When I wrote the article MYTHS ABOUT MOTORSPORT I mentioned that the power is not particularly impressive. It's all about the technical requirements and restrictions prescribed there, as well as in very difficult operating conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to start just by studying the possibilities, as well as already existing technical solutions.
Let's go through the systems and parts of the Engine. I will describe the most common changes.
1. Fuel system

But believe me, if there is no ready-made solution for your car, then it will be very expensive to invent it. Only large or factory teams can afford it a lot, as it is engineering, prototypes, tests and everything in a circle.
Now let's get back a little closer to the specifics, and as an example I will describe the main technical limitations for an engine in its class 2000H of the Russian Rally Cup.
1. "Reduced volume" of the engine over 1600 cm3 to 2000 cm3
2. Body builder and cylinder block must match
3. Number of cylinders no more than 6
4. Crankshaft orientation must not be changed
5. No more than 2 throttle valves (otherwise to the next class)
6 .Fuel with a research octane number not higher than 100 (mono supplier recommended)
7. Exhaust system noise limit 103 dB (according to a special measurement method)
As you can see, there is a large field for creativity. So why is the real power of cars 180-240 forces.
Yes, you can remove 280! But a number of questions arise.
How much is it?
What resource, reliability?
How convenient will it be to manage?
How and how to transfer such power to the wheels?
As I already wrote in our class, the most powerful Honda cars, as a rule, 220-240 forces are their indicators. The rest rarely reach 210.
Just the other day, the engine of my RACE CAR was tuned, it turned out 191 horsepower and 229 N / m of torque. And these are quite normal indicators, you can compete in the classroom. The concept of my car as well as the engine was developed by an almost factory team of Ford M-Sport. At one time, the JWRC championship was held on such cars. Therefore, I do not plan to invent something new.
