A couple of days ago I noticed a new Volt on the road, and today I was just near my dealer and stopped by to find out what was there and how. It turned out that the first batch had already arrived, there were cars in stock and the first customers.

I asked to see and ride. First impression: the car alive is not as Korean as it seemed in the first pictures. Of course, much in the image has migrated from the very successful, in my opinion, exterior of the first generation. But not all. The main thing is that there is absolutely no former futurism.

The interior is a real revolution. A quantum leap in quality and ergonomics. There is no more moronic glossy plastic, nightmarish pseudo-touch buttons, disgusting gearshift lever. The feeling of quality here is completely different from General Motors products.

The only pity is that all this is not a movement from good to excellent, but from terrible to good. Yolki-sticks, this was supposed to be the first generation Volt!

On the move, the new Volt is a little more comfortable, a little more pleasant, a little clearer - a planned evolution.

The newest multimedia complex is much more pleasantly rendered, quickly reacts to touches, scrolls through the usual iPad gestures. But it still sucks.

GM is one of the first to support Apple CarPlay in production models. When you connect the iPhone, the familiar cards, contacts, messages, music will appear on the screen. During a short test drive, I was unable to test it, of course.

Another great achievement of the American electric vehicle industry - the Volt has become a five-seater! Just do not ask me how comfortable the person sitting in the center will be and why there are two large round compartments.

Now dealers sell both new and old Volts.

Pure electric mileage on a single charge has increased from the passport 36 to 53 miles (85 km). Taking into account the fact that I managed to drive 50 miles on my own with a certain skill, on the new one it will be possible and 65-70, I think.

In general, I liked the car very much. As I wrote above, this is how it should have been in the first version (first of all inside), and therefore I am now a little offended. The manager beckons with might and main to "talk about a profitable upgrade on better terms." Well, I will come to the next MOT soon and we will talk.
