The Haval plant in the Tula region was opened by Putin himself, for a minute. Such "PR" is not available to everyone, and Hawail is making plans to conquer the first line in the crossover segment in just five years. The Korean brand KIA, for example, took as many as fifteen.
We were fortunate enough to be at the factory during the inventory, when the entire production was at a standstill and it was possible to walk almost everywhere without fear of being in the range of sensors and alarms, stopping the entire container with our curiosity.
While we were exploring the plant, its workers gathered at a professional skill competition, in which, you guessed it, the prizes were brand new cars assembled by them at the plant. Great prize and great motivation, I think.
The Havel plant (namely Havel) provides a full assembly cycle, starting with stamping of body parts, which takes place in three stages, on three presses in turn, on a huge complex. By the way, the metal is purchased from China, which should be a good kick for our producers. Those who have come across the work of our enterprises know what I mean.
Then the parts go to an automatic welding conveyor. The conveyor is fully automatic. I saw this only at the GAZ plant, which assembled the Gazelle CMF. Robots can not only cook, but also easily change the "tool", turning from a welder to a transporter or in another way changing the purpose.
Despite the stoppage of production, a welding conveyor was launched especially for us so that we could see how everything happens in life. Human help is not required here - just press a button and the robots come to life.
The welded bodies are transported on the second floor of the workshop and lowered on special platforms to the painting and assembly workshop. By the way, the painting shop was hidden from us. There, the Chinese manufacturer protects something from prying eyes and impudent lenses.
After painting, the bodies are moved to the assembly workshop. It is interesting that the painted parts are covered with special mats, and the body parts with whole protective panels on the suction cups. In order not to accidentally damage the paintwork and not to add work to eliminate imperfections.
The H9 flagship SUV and the new F7 and F7X crossovers are assembled on the same assembly line. For H9, separate bodies come to the assembly, a separate frame with power units, transmission and other equipment installed on it.
The final assembly takes place "on wheels". Doors and plastic elements are hung last.
Outside the window, in the parking lots of the plant, there are brand new cars ready for shipment. Now the brand has 72 dealerships, and next year they promise to bring this figure to 100. This is already a solid entry. It only remains to tighten up the availability of spare parts not only in the dealerships.
We were the first to test the new F7X coupe crossover. The car turned out to be credible, both in style and in driving performance. China is very steeply pulled up to the premium segment.
I will also tell you about the Haval F7X crossover in the following materials and on the pages of the OffRoadClub.Ru portal. This is a very serious claim, and I think there will be many who want to forget the "dogma" that everything Chinese is bad. By the way, look at the back of your iPhones …
With Hawail, we have conceived a new project. Subscribe to my blog and my Instagram, so as not to miss anything interesting …
