A couple of weeks before the official presentation at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the first live photos of the all-new fourth generation Toyota Prius were leaked online. It is interesting that the pictures were taken in the fuselage of a cargo plane: apparently, these are exhibition vehicles that will take place at the stand.
The world's most popular hybrid car has undergone significant transformation. The futuristic exterior design is inspired by the acclaimed hydrogen model Toyota Mirai, while retaining the basic proportions and architecture of its successful predecessor. The new corporate identity of Toyota / Lexus, frankly - for an amateur, but in the case of the Prius, it looks quite appropriate and organic. The machine is built on a completely new modular TGNA platform, which is lighter than the previous one and boasts better rigidity and a lower center of gravity.
The final parameters of the car are still kept secret. It is only known that Toyota will offer a hybrid installation of a more compact size, and fuel consumption will be reduced by about 10%. An upgraded gasoline engine with a working volume of 1.8 liters will be used as an internal combustion engine.
Three generations of Toyota Prius
Toyota is the world leader in the production and sales of hybrid vehicles. Since 1997, when the first generation Prius was brought to the market, the Japanese have already sold more than 8 million "hybrids".
