The first cars are gradually coming at the disposal of dealerships, but the preliminary date of the official presentation is rather distant October 31st.
Why so late? Personally, I have no answer, because almost the entire stock of old X1s is sold out, and it would be possible not to delay the start of sales
The only explanation is the lack of clarity with the rates, which may delay the announcement of the official price lists for the new product.
Whatever it was, I want to share with you my first impressions, because they are still purely positive!

The SportLine X1 20i xDrive was one of the first vehicles to arrive at the warehouse. This line includes both exterior trim (bumpers, side skirts, wheels, nostrils, etc.) and a different interior.
Since the first cars are type-setting Germans, there may even be such options - with halogens … DRLs are LED.
The vehicle's ground clearance has dropped from 194 mm to 183 mm, but the flat bottom and short overhangs are unlikely to greatly affect the cross-country ability.
Under the hood - a transversely located 2.0 192 hp engine, accelerating to the first hundred in 7.4 seconds. All-wheel drive versions are equipped with 8АКПП.
From now on, all four-wheel drive modifications have two exhaust pipes divorced on the sides. Offset!
The trunk in the base has an electric drive! Perhaps one of the most anticipated options! The trunk itself has not visually changed much, but in fact it has grown. Moreover, the rear row can optionally have a longitudinal adjustment, and thus by sliding the seats forward, you can increase the loading space without resorting to folding the seats themselves.
Optionally, a stowaway is now available and a jack + wheel wrench to it. If you refuse this option, you will get a very roomy raised floor, I think 100 liters, no less.
The interior has pulled up in level with the modern model line and looks very civilized. However, looking ahead, I will say that it not only looks, but also feels very comfortable. This is facilitated by both the seats borrowed from the new MINI, and the generally comfortable high seating position, the grabbing steering wheel and the helpfully pushed center console, which controls can be reached without taking your back from the seat.
The seat itself can be equipped with both manual adjustments and electric. drives with seat memory. Shown here are the standard SportLine sports seats upholstered in Sensatec leatherette. The adjustments are built according to a more familiar scheme - microlift (by swinging movements you can raise both the seat itself and with a separate lever - tilt the pillow.) The two-shoulder key is responsible for pumping lateral support.
Door cards also look very elegant and cozy. There is also contour lighting, and a convenient glass / mirrors control unit, and in the lower part, next to a convenient roomy door niche, there is a button for opening / closing the tailgate.
The central tunnel is lower than on other BMW models, but this is compensated for by a higher and free-standing armrest, which has acquired a tilt angle adjustment in the manner of FV. The multimedia joystick has a nifty leather tide - like the BMW i8. It looks and feels very high quality, especially since it is very soft on the passenger side and it is unlikely to hit painfully. The key is like the new X5 / X6. Very pleasant both to the sight and to the touch. The cup holders will easily fit liter bottles or glasses from the Mac, and most importantly, they will not interfere with either the multimedia / climate control or the automatic transmission. And to hurt them and spill something is unrealistic. The only thing that saddens a little is the classic automatic transmission lever … If someone has not moved from a BMW, then everything is fine. But those who are used to the electronic automatic transmission joystick will greatly regretafter all, without a joystick, the sensations are not the same)
The climate unit looks and feels excellent. The display backlight can change from white to red depending on the time of day, and the new oblique design of the icons is again like all the latest innovations. Of the undoubted advantages - unlike the 3 series, the SYNC button has been added here, which allows you to adjust the temperature of both zones with one movement.
If you raise the armrest, there are hidden AUX and USB inputs, as well as a 12V socket for connecting, for example, a charger. The niche is also able to accommodate a lot of useful junk, and small things can be thrown into the armrest itself.
For relatively large hand luggage such as documents and other junk, there is a very spacious glove box. A lot of gloves will fit into it, because in my memory it is the largest in the entire BMW model line.
The second car to arrive is in the xLine trim and close to the top of the range. Otpad new color - Bronze chestnut! Very aggressive appearance!
Rear optics also speaks of the seriousness of the car.
Expensive versions can be equipped with the Extended instrument panel option. In fact, this is the same tidy that goes with the restyled 1 series. Expensive and beautiful!
If you don’t regret spending some money on an expensive navigation system, then you will get such a beautiful tablet, which makes the interior of the X1 in design and functionality akin to its older brother - the X5. Inserts - dark Oak look very expensive, beautiful and practical, because they are matte and do not leave greasy marks, which cannot be said about the glossy substrate of the audio and climate unit.
This shape will be basic non-sports seats. Their uniforms are not the most premium, but to my surprise they turned out to be quite comfortable. Again, the roots of MINI have an effect, from which they were borrowed. The aforementioned electric seat drives are pictured.
And of course the rear row of seats. In this version, it has both a longitudinal adjustment back and forth and an adjustment of the angle of the backrest, which allows you to move with great comfort even on long journeys. The tables on the backs of the front seats, which can not only be reclined, but also adjusted in height, contribute to the same comfort! Very comfortably! On the very back row, the landing was also pleasing. High, spacious and very comfortable. Moreover, in my opinion, the landing / disembarkation has also become more comfortable, which is facilitated by the higher roof and the rear doors opening to a greater angle.
PS In a couple of weeks there will be an opportunity to test the car in action and most likely compare it with both competitors and the old X1, and then it will be possible to talk about its success, but the first impression is definitely good and this is exactly what was expected, albeit front-wheel drive :(!
