Finally she arrived!
No not like this. Finally, we started to collect it!
Knowing the previous model firsthand, knowing its pros and cons, I was very interested in the new model. Most of all I wanted to see the car with my own eyes and appreciate all the changes.
On the test we have Skoda Fabia 2015 1.0 Active + options, worth 340 thousand UAH.
Appearance has changed quite seriously. Now Fabia has become more similar to the older models of the company (Octavia, Rapid, Superb), but, nevertheless, it cannot be confused with them. Fabia is a stylish thing now :)
Serious changes have also been made to the interior of the car. Even in the basic configuration, the interior no longer looks gloomy. Everything is quite modern, but with a slight, trademark conservatism. The head unit looks quite original. Despite the location and small size of the monitor, it is convenient to use the radio tape recorder, and it sounds very good, as for a factory one. In an almost basic configuration, in which there are no armrests, seat height adjustment and an on-board computer, the Fabia does not feel total economy and deliberate cheapness. All controls are convenient and located in their places. The seats and fit are quite comfortable. Of course, in a car of this class a priori there cannot be a lot of space, but to say that there is not enough space here either.
Within its class, there is quite enough space, and the trunk is completely larger than that of some cars of a higher status.
Fabia left a very positive impression during the course. The first is that it seemed to me softer than the previous model. The second is controllability. She is definitely not worse in the new Fabia. The steering wheel is light and sharp enough. The car is very easy and, to some extent, even recklessly controlled. Getting around in the city is a pleasure. Noise isolation in the car has also improved. But there is one thing - the motor. The motor in the initial version with a volume of 1.0 and without inflation is rather weak. The power of 75 horsepower Fabia is enough only for a leisurely ride without sudden acceleration. But the chassis just asks …
Handling, brakes and how the car holds the road - in the new Fabia all this is at the highest level. I am sure that with a 1.2 TSI engine or 1.6 MPi, the Fabia will appeal to "active drivers", but with 1.0 it can only be recommended to very sedate people who are used to driving at a moderate pace.
And yet, even with the weakest engine in the lineup, the new Fabia can be safely recommended and praised. The new model has not changed completely, but it has become noticeably more stylish. More high-tech and more economical engines began to be installed on the Fabia. And the most important thing is the price. Its value has remained the same!
$ 13,700 for the initial version with 1.0 Active and mechanics, and $ 17,000 for the most interesting, in my subjective opinion, version with 1.2 TSI (110 forces), 6-speed manual transmission in the Ambition package.

Even the simplest Blues radio has a monochrome TFT display, four speakers, a USB port, AUX input and an SD card slot.
The glove compartment is large, but no cooling. There is no armrest in the base.
In the basic configuration, the rear seat back is one-piece; in more expensive versions, it folds in a 1/3 - 2/3 ratio. Trunk volume 330 liters. With the seats folded down, the volume increases to 1150 liters.
The declared average fuel consumption is 4.8 liters. It was not possible to look at the actual fuel consumption due to the lack of an on-board computer.
The ground clearance of cars with the Bad Roads package has been increased, but it is better to park with a sharp front bumper carefully.
