. When it comes to car design, it is important for me that all lines and elements are in place. No kitsch, no frank and often unjustified prejudice for sportiness and pseudo-dynamics. Well, I don't like that. And here the Kia Cerato is in complete order.
In order to appreciate how good the design is, I went to various uncharacteristic locations. The eye is a comparative tool, and the cleanliness of the lines can be assessed only in contrast with uncharacteristic objects.
In my opinion, a great solution to separate the headlights and radiator grill. This made it possible to visually make the front of the car wider and more interesting. In the previous version of the Cerato, the headlights and grille were one unit.
The rear headlight unit is made in one line. Again, this makes the car visually wider.
The sculpted bonnet and elongated headlights subtly emphasize the vehicle's dynamics. I have no complaints about the exterior design of the car.
They did it cool, interesting and restrained in a European way.
But I'm sure Kia's design is still in search of its identity.
Inside, the Cerato was more spacious than it seemed from the outside. This is due to the massive front panel without a central bridge. One large horizontal line. It's nice to be in the salon.
The dashboard and information displayed on it are read instantly.
No animation and unnecessary colors. He sat down, pressed the engine start button and drove off.
On the run. I did not find an empty steering wheel in the corners. It feels like the noise and vibration isolation in the new Cerato is from the older models.
Suspension - time-tested solutions. A MacPherson strut and an H-shaped subframe are in front, and a transverse beam with associated trailing arms is behind.
I drove a car with a 2.0 + AKP6 Premium engine. There was enough power for all types of roads. I will say more, there was enough power and controllability even on serpentines. Perhaps because I didn't expect sporty handling from a 150-horsepower car. I gladly moved in it from one point to another. I always envied bloggers who can tumble into a turn with a front axle drift, and then describe every second of this process.
I liked the suspension. Elastic, compressed, uncharacteristic for a sedan.
At the end of the first day of running, I realized that Cerato with such a suspension would not be intimidated by primers, and with a clear conscience went in search of interesting things.
Here I regretted that we did not have a KIA Sportage or KIA Sorento. That would be there on a full drive to ride! There are so many interesting things to find!
The only place where the car failed was a forty-degree incline. Here on it there was not enough ground clearance and tire grip.

I had to leave the car downstairs and walk up to the abandoned villa. Fuel consumption after our adventures turned out to be 9 liters per 100 km. For serpentines, this is a decent indicator.
