How to install xenon with your own hands?
First we need to remove the old headlight from the mounts. To do this, you need to de-energize the system: pull out the negative terminal from the battery and unscrew the bolt securing the optics unit. After we need to use a long minus screwdriver to remove the two plasticlatch. Now we just have to pull the headlight from the mounting socket.
Next, you should remove all the wires to which it is connected. It is recommended to disconnect the large terminal with a small negative screwdriver. To do this, insert it into a small slot on the side of the wire and press on the edge of the handle. It is worth noting that the terminal has a very fragile plastic latch, so it must be handled with care.
Now remove the headlight housing cover. Most often it is attached with 4 latches. Before installing xenon, you need to remove the standard lamp. You should definitely not touch the headlight reflector with your fingers, as this will not affect the propagation of the light beam in the best way. Also, during the installation of xenon, avoid contact with aggressive substances such as gasoline and alcohol on the surface of the reflector.
Before installing xenon, you need to think about the future placement of new lamps in the headlight. First, take care of the wires. Since there will be many more of them (then you also need to connect the ignition unit), you need to make an additional hole on the back of the optics. It is best to drill at the bottom of the case. So the wires will not rest against the plastic wall behind the headlight. In order not to damage the plastic, first use a thin drill, and then expand it with a file. Now you need to pass the wires through the hole, and then insert the rubber seal into it.
Before installing xenon, you must also mount the ignition unit. We fix it under the bodylights. Next, we connect the remaining 4 wires, from which the standard lamp is powered. We connect all the terminals according to the polarity and put the xenon light in place of the regular one.
Everything, at this stage the question of how to install xenon with your own hands is settled. Now it remains to close the cover and mount the optics back.
After successfully installing xenon on the first headlight, perform the same steps with the second one. Remember that new wires must not be pinched, otherwise the lamp will not work.
