A truck crane operator must have a specialized education. Higher technical education is also the basis for admission to work on a truck crane. The specialized education includes the training of a truck crane operator. Crane operators, depending on qualifications, may also be allowed to do certain jobs. The qualification level of crane operators includes the categories of machinists. They carry out various types of loading and unloading operations. In addition to being trained as a truck crane operator, a specialist must know the basics of driving a car.

While working on a truck crane, he monitors the safety of the operation of the technical facility, fuel consumption, and the constancy of the working condition of the machine.

Depending on the purpose of the work, the crane operator can work in conjunction with other specialists, with the parallel use of additional equipment.

A truck crane operator spends all his working time in an open cab, where there is no protection from precipitation, engine noise and exhaust gases.

The most difficult duties are related to the performance of all types of loading and unloading operations, competent movement around the work area.

Automobile crane operator controls it with the levers of mechanisms, various tools for installation and maintenance (maintenance) of the vehicle and its components.

There are a number of special technical, physical and mental skills that a crane operator must have in order to successfully complete the job. He should have a good response to various types of stimuli, auditory and visual. He must also have good coordination of the body, arms and legs to control the mechanisms of the truck crane. For the driverresistance to fatigue, stressful situations and self-control is required.

Training

To obtain the speci alty "automobile crane operator", future specialists must be trained in educational units or special institutions. As an employee is serving and working on a truck crane, he can improve his skills and advance in the service.

Skills

As already mentioned, different ranks can be assigned to specialists.

A truck crane operator, for example, of the fourth category must have the following skills:

• operate a crane with a lifting capacity of 6 tons;
• monitor the fasteners and adjust all the fasteners of the crane mechanisms, as well as monitor the operation of safety systems;
• determine the wear of steel ropes and their readiness for work;
• carry out crane maintenance and repairs;
• be able to identify breakdowns and promptly repair equipment;
• competently perform work on a truck crane;
• understand working drawing details;
• follow all prescribed crane operation rules and instructions;
• be able to keep a watch log, waybill;
• comply with labor protection rules, sanitary and fire safety requirements.

Instructions

For admission to work on this special equipment, a special instruction for a truck crane driver has been developed.

• A person must be over 18 years of age and undergo special training, proof of this will be the certificate he received after completing training for the right to drive trucks or a truck crane.
• The future specialist needs to undergo a medical examination of various types: periodic and mandatory.
• Mandatory training in all methods of work on a truck crane, obtaining knowledge of labor protection and an internship to test the knowledge and professional suitability of a specialist.
• In order to protect against harmful working conditions, production employers issue special suits that employees must wear without fail. These are gloves, rubber boots and overalls, insulated suits and felt boots during the winter. If the crane operator is directly on the construction site and leaves the cab, then the presence of a helmet is mandatory.

• Without exception, all persons present in the area of the construction site or production must strictly observe the labor schedule approved at a particular production.
• Persons not related to construction or production should not be on the territory, as well as persons in a state of alcohol or drug intoxication.
• It is forbidden to use working equipment for other purposes, as well as to use equipment that is in emergency condition.

Safety

1. Before starting activities, workers must wear protective suits and present a work progress sheet at thisobject.
2. If any malfunctions and irregularities in the operation of mechanisms are detected, crane operators are not en titled to begin their duties.

Safety of crane operators and machinists during work

Occupational safety instructions for truck crane operators prescribe the following provisions:

1. During work, it is forbidden to do other things besides the main duties, as well as to inspect and maintain parts of the truck crane, if this is not a critical situation.
2. After starting the truck crane engine, it is forbidden to get out of it without first turning off the engine.
3. While moving loads, make sure that there are no people in the moving area and sound the horn if necessary.
4. If inspection of the truck crane is necessary, then it should be carried out only with the engine turned off.
5. Before starting any work, the operator of truck cranes at the slinger is obliged to check the entire package of documents and only after making sure that they are available, can proceed directly to work. If it is discovered that the slinger does not have documents or that ordinary workers are hired to work on slinging, the crane operator does not have the right to start work.

Tariff-qualified guide

According to the unified tariff-qualification guide, truck crane drivers are assigned special categories. It also lists the rates for the work. According to the requirements of ETKS, the driver of a truck crane, while moving outside the production or construction area, mustadhere to all traffic rules.

A separate section has also been introduced into the ETCS, which includes duties and billing for a particular repair and construction profession. In addition, it includes the obligation to know the basic rules for labor protection, safety, repair and maintenance of vehicles.
