"Audi A6" is a popular car of the German concern in the business class. The first copy rolled off the assembly line in 1994. The model is produced to this day. This article discusses the characteristics of this car, in particular, the station wagon.

Model history

A6 has replaced the outdated "Audi 100". In 1994, the A4, A6 and A8 models were released. The line of the model range consisted of two options - a sedan and "A6 Audi" (station wagon).

The body of the first generation had an index of C4. The car was produced with two engine options - gasoline and diesel. The model existed until 1997 with only one restyling. The creators have changed the appearance, bumpers and headlights. The rest of the car remained the same.

If we compare all generations at the same time, then it is the C5 variant that looks the most peaceful and calm. Smooth and straight lines, rounded optics (front and back). There is no sportiness or aggression in this car. Even the rims look neutral. This car looks especially calm in the "Audi A6 C5" (station wagon) version, which is called Avant.

Calling a car's interior roomy would be a bit of a misnomer. Duethe new base of the car turned out to be very roomy. In addition to the main two rows of seats, the car has an additional row, which unfolds in the trunk if necessary. At the same time, the carrying capacity and trunk volume are reduced slightly.

Gasoline options include 3 versions: 1.8-liter and 180-horsepower engine, 2.7-liter and 254 horsepower, 4.2-liter and 340 horsepower under the hood. All models can be equipped with either a manual 5 or 6-speed gearbox, or a 4 or 5-speed automatic.

Version "Audi A6" (diesel, station wagon) is equipped with the following units: 1.9-liter 110-horsepower engine and 2.5-liter and 180-horsepower. The first engine is turbocharged. A diesel engine vehicle is also available with a manual or automatic transmission.

"Audi A6" third generation station wagon - business class and family car in one solution. Many may not like it because of its mediocre design, but this car does not hold any functionality and reliability. Just look at the current popularity of this model - there is still demand for the station wagon in the secondary market. And this is an indicator that the Germans turned out to be an excellent and well-balanced car.
