The story that eventually led to the creation of the Chevrolet Impala 1967 model year began back in 1958 … No, it's not like that, you can't talk dryly and impersonally about such beauty. So…

The story of this love began in that happy 1958, when the horrors of war had already been forgotten, no new ones were expected, and the industry was trying with might and main to make the life of a simple American better and more fun. It was this desire that pushed Chevrolet to create a luxury modification of its already well-selling car, the Bel Air. The average American thought, chewed on a burger from McDonald's, which was just coming into vogue then, and bought it. Sales of the new car quickly went uphill, and the consumer liked its name so much that it soon got its own car, or rather, the new car got its own name - Impala, Chevrolet named after an unknown African antelope. The Chevrolet company already in 1959 released a separate model not similar to the Bel Air and did not lose. Beautiful, big, powerful. Just the American dream. Sales grew, management happily rubbed their hands. Under the hood of a handsome man, either a V6 or a V8 was hidden - to choose from, including a turbocharged choice that the cowboy hid under the gas pedala herd of 315 selected horses. The model turned out to be not only successful… In 1959, the best-selling model of the Chevrolet brand, in the 60th, the best-selling model of the United States of America. Isn't that a success?

The third generation appeared in 1961. The popularity was still growing, six long years before the 1967 Chevrolet Impala, but the appearance was already similar.

Oddly enough, the stock engine had less power compared to its predecessor (135 hp vs. 145), but the top turbo-eight gave out as much as 360.

The year 1965 has arrived, a new Impala and a new record. The combination of muscle car character, roominess and practicality of a family sedan has resulted in an absolute record for sales of full-size sedans - more than 1 million units. This is despite the fact that just over 1.6 million of all varieties of the Chevrolet brand were sold that year. America's Favorite Car.

The fresh car received a new, more aggressive design, many technical innovations, and most importantly, a Turbo Jet V8 engine with a power output of 425 hp, which, oh horror, could be added more. And then, in the same year, history makes a kind of curtsey, the Impala Caprice, a luxury version of the Impala, which became a separate model in 1966, appears on the arena.

Year 1967. Chevrolet Impala undergoes restyling and until 1970, when a new generation came out, does not change its appearance. Of course, one could continue the story further, because the fifth generation appeared, andsixth, but I won't. Then there was the oil crisis, the deterioration of build quality, the struggle of the manufacturer for survival and sunset, sunset.

The 1967 Chevrolet Impala was the last of the Mohicans. The best of the best, after which there were only the best of the worst. Until now, Americans, and not only them, love this car. Find, buy, restore, modernize. There are amateur clubs all over the world. Chevrolet Impala 1967 is on a par with the Dodge Charger and Pontiac GTO, Ford Mustang and Ford Gran Torino. Not just standing by, in the lead, rightfully America's favorite car.

And when asked why we love the Impala, you can always hear a simple and understandable answer: "Because they don't make them anymore!".
