The Czech miracle called "Skoda Yeti" appeared on the world market recently. The manufacturer himself positioned his new product as a crossover, but in reality it is a cross between a station wagon and a city SUV. Despite such strange features, the car has become widespread in Russia. Many car owners have already managed to evaluate all its features, and today we will consider what disadvantages the Skoda Yeti has, as well as what advantages it has.

Pros

And let's get straight to the benefits. The first thing that attracts in the Skoda Yeti car is the configuration and prices. There are more than enough options for the crossover (the Russian market offers 3 gasoline engines to choose from and 3 transmissions). Moreover, each buyer can optionally choose any electronic device or elite trim. If you count, you get about 18 modifications of the SUV. The price of a car (740 thousand rubles) is also tempting, but the cost of a luxury package (almost 1.5million rubles) is already clearly overestimated. But still, the build quality of the "Czech" is much higher and the Volga Automobile Plant has something to strive for. It is also worth noting the good protection of the bottom from mechanical damage - the engine compartment is reliably protected by an aluminum shield. Although it is unlikely to save from water hammer, but more on that later.

What are the disadvantages of the Skoda Yeti?

Unfortunately, the novelty also has drawbacks. Let's start with the body. The first flaw that catches your eye is the “bare” roof. There is clearly not enough spoiler here, which would not only improve aerodynamics, but also clean the rear window from dirt (thanks to the same aerodynamic flow). In general, even the latest restyling of the Skoda Yeti (2013) could not correct the aerodynamics. A test drive showed that after 200-300 kilometers on domestic roads, the car becomes completely dirty and ugly.

But that's not all the features of the new Skoda Yeti crossover. The disadvantages lie in the interior of the machine. The first thing that greets the driver is the front panel trim. By its properties, it is very hard and unpleasant to the touch. The same trend is observed in the rear of the car (acoustic shelf). The Skoda Yeti also has flaws on the center console: the climate control buttons are clearly reduced. There is lighting in the cabin, but for some reason it is not placed on the visors (a trifle, but it would be nice). The head restraints on the driver's seat are very tight and poorly adjustable. And furtherone, the last minus is the poor protection of the engine from water hammer. Normal protection is installed only near the windshield. The rest is left open to puddles and rain.

Conclusion

Looking at the ratio of pros and cons, we can say for sure that the Skoda Yeti crossover needs a lot of work. A really high-quality model will appear not even in a year. Although if we compare it with domestic counterparts, then Russian models have someone to take an example from. In the future, you can expect a more advanced crossover.
