I think many people know what carbon is - a film that is a composite material. It consists of strands of carbon intertwined with each other. The fabricated layers are fixed with epoxy resins. Such a fiber is extremely difficult to stretch, that is, a break is practically excluded. There is also a significant drawback of this material, when compressed, it is brittle and there is a possibility of breakage. To avoid this, rubber threads began to be used as an additive. The fiber weave is now made at the right angle. And so saw the light of carbon film. This material gained popularity and began to be widely used in various industries: equipment is made for racers, used in tuning and in the military industry.

Carbon-film is quite dense and light in weight. It is much lighter than metal and aluminum. For this reason, they began to use it for the manufacture of components for racing cars. Thanks to it, the weight of the car is reduced, but the strength remains. Carbon looks nice. This, of course, is a big plus.

This material, unfortunately, is not perfect and is not a perfect structure. It fades in the sun and changes color. Reestablishdamaged parts will not work, you will have to replace completely. And of course, the high price is a big minus of this material. Few will allow themselves to make a complete tuning of it.

Carbon film is used in the finishing of machines for both external and internal surfaces. Have you seen the carbon fiber hoods?! As a rule, it is from this detail that car owners begin to transform their car. Next, the spoiler, mirrors, bumper are replaced. In interior tuning, white carbon is often used; the film looks elegant in the car interior. They also make various inserts on the steering wheel, change the gearshift knob. Even craftsmen use elements made from this material in their work.

The appearance of carbon fiber attracts people. But natural material is a rather expensive thing and not everyone is able to afford this pleasure. Therefore, there are imitations of this product. The carbon film is replaced by a PVC coating with a carbon-look pattern. The desired part is covered with this material and heated with directed warm air, sometimes an ordinary hair dryer is used for this.

Another option is also used - “aqua-printing”. It also creates the appearance of carbon. In this case, the desired part is covered with a film of a special type under the pressure of water. This technology makes it possible to manufacture products of complex shapes. Carbon fiber is also replaced with airbrushing, although in this version, imitation of a pattern is a very difficult task.

Currently, 3d carbon film is starting to gain popularity. She hasrather high technical characteristics, since the thickness of the material is 240 microns. Compared to other films for cars, this one has a long length - 1.55m. This allows tuning large parts of the car without joints. It is elastic, stretches well when exposed to heat. Serves as a reliable protection for the paintwork, prevents the formation of chips.
