What is the autorun module?
This is a small device that can be supplied either separately or as part of an alarm kit. But in any case, the module will work from the alarm control unit, so it simply makes no sense to purchase it separately without a security system. What is autorun on a car from a technical point of view? The module is an electrical relay that is built into the on-board network and subsequently imitates the function of the ignition key. To understand the essence of this work, it is worth returning to the basic concept of autorun. It is designed to prematurely activate the heating system and the motor for the purpose of heating. Warms up both the engine and the interior. To implement this function until the moment of direct use of the machine, a relay is used that automatically turns on the engine with heating.
How to install autoplay?
The minimum autostart package includes a relay, heat shrink tubing, control cable, power wiring and accessories for fixing. For stable operation of the module, a free channel on the signaling unit is required - for example, you can use the line to open the trunk. But since almost all modern signaling kits have several free connection routes, there will be no problems in this part. The connection diagram can be individual - it is attached with the autostart kit. You can install the module according to a typical universal scheme through the steering compartment. For connection, the module board is used, to which the terminal blocks from the starter and ignition are connected. Usually, screw contacts are used to connect to a 12 V power circuit. Most often, you have to deal with green, red and black wires - you still have to find out about their suitability for their intended purpose from the instructions for a particular model. After connection, the contours are fixed and crimped with the supplied tooling.
Neutral sensor connection
This is an additional transmission control feature that will come in handy for those who want to increase the level of car protection. In this case, the module will havea special channel with a sensor for controlling the gear knob. The output from the block with a lever will work from the minus of the metal body. At the moment of manipulation with it, a circuit occurs and the engine starts. A neodymium magnet must also be purchased separately for the neutral control sensor. His presence nearby optimizes the electrical circuit. Also, experts recommend connecting a control line to the sensor from the module from which autorun will work. It is possible to supply devices with the correct electrical circuit only with the gear removed, that is, with neutral - this point should also be taken into account. The absence of a gearbox sensor included with the module does not mean at all that it is impossible to implement such a function. Setting operation parameters
The control will be carried out mainly through the alarm key fob, therefore, before using the module, the remote access functions should be programmed. To begin with, the possible operating modes of the engine are set, as well as the number of revolutions that will be triggered after the tachometric signal. Next, the optimal time interval for the starter operation is set, during which the engine is activated. In the case of a diesel unit, a separate setting of the time between activation of the ignition and the start of the starter may be required. In the daily routine of operation, the engine autostart module is also programmed according to such parameters aswarm-up duration, number of starts, timer off, redundancy modes, etc.

As already mentioned, the system will need to be controlled through the key fob, so along with the settings, the functions corresponding to one or another remote control button are set. The working model can be as follows: the user performs a remote start through a timer, then the engine is turned on at the appointed time and the car warms up. There is one nuance in the use of such devices, related to the specifics of the immobilizer. This component is part of the security complex and, in its essence, should block autorun. You can bypass the immobilizer using a transpoder chip that transmits an RF signal. A key with a code that activates the immobilizer is integrated into the unit of this device. That is, at the moment the autostart signal is sent, the command to the transpoder is also duplicated, which excludes blocking the engine start.

The technique for integrating autostart modules into an alarm complex is quite simple and can be implemented by an ordinary motorist. If you have electrical engineering skills, you can also organize a complex system, which will include additional functions for working with mechanical interlocks, the same neutral sensor, etc. But it is important to take into account the dangers that are fraught withengine start module if it is not properly used. These include excessive fuel consumption and additional load on the battery pack - again, if the initial warm-up and module shutdown times are incorrect. But experts consider the increased risk of theft to be the most serious disadvantage of such systems. This is due to both the immobilizer being turned off and the engine activity, and this already reduces the degree of security of the machine, which works in the absence of the owner.
