But just such a machine is the UAZ-3741, well-known to many, technical characteristics, the possibilities of which we will consider in the article.

The era of this car started back in 1955. The first prototype of the UAZ-3741 was the creation of the hands of engineers and specialists of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. Initially, the car was created in the form of an all-metal van with a rear door. Thanks to the flat bottomto the convex front and characteristic ribs of cruelty, the UAZ outwardly very much resembled a loaf of bread called "Rifled". It was this similarity that prompted the car to be called a loaf among the inhabitants. This nickname has remained behind the van to this day. Initially, the car was named UAZ-450.
Degrees of modernization
The car underwent its first transformation in 1965. The body of the car was supplemented with a side door, which was able to turn the cargo van into a cargo-passenger model with a double-leaf rear door. By the way, depending on what modification of the machine was made (postal, sanitary and others), the configuration of this door also changed.
Another van upgrade was made in 1985. The updated models were assigned the UAZ-3741 index, which are still produced in our time. Now it is even difficult to calculate exactly how many of these machines were sold over a half-century period of production.
Description
UAZ "loaf" 3741 from the very beginning of its release was a frame. The van was equipped with a pair of drive axles and power plants with lower valves from the GAZ-69 SUV.
As for the gearbox, it had three steps. And most importantly - the gearbox was paired in one unit with the transfer case. Due to the mechanism, called the demultiplier, the transfer case switched to the mode of reducing the gear ratios of all available gears. This design of the van was quite common for that period of time inglobal practice and absolutely innovative for the domestic auto industry.
UAZ-3741 in the era of modernity is not too different from its forefather. The engine, gearbox, axles, transfer case - all this, of course, is not completely identical with the 1965 counterparts, but the characteristic constructive continuity with the original is very clearly traced. The modern version of the car is equipped with a ZMZ-4091 gasoline engine. The octane number must be at least 92. The power plant is aggregated with a mechanical four-speed gearbox. The load capacity of the machine is 800 kg.
A few words about transmission
The UAZ-3741 van is equipped with suspensions that have hardly changed since the beginning of the production of the car. In reality, this is due not to the laziness of engineers to change anything in the car, but to its consistently high cross-country ability. Both front and rear, the car uses a dependent suspension, which is based on a continuous axle. This design ensures that ground clearance is maintained when rolling and moving obstacles, such as large stones.
Interior
Depending on the modification, the internal design of the machine and the number of doors may vary. In particular, in the cargo-passenger model, the compartment for passengers is separated from the driver's seat by a special partition, while in other versions of the car this part is not.
Depending on what tasks the van has to perform, the number of seats can also be changed. On the roof of the van from the factory there is a special stamp for the hatch, although he himself is not always available. UAZ-3741 from the very beginning was designed and created as a universal machine capable of overcoming various obstacles on its way. That is why it is very often used by a variety of government services, from ambulance and rescue service to representatives of manufacturing enterprises.
A distinctive feature of the machine can be considered its almost absolute cross. It goes without saying that this is an extremely important point, which explains the enormous demand for the van for the past 50 years. Yes, in fairness, we point out that there are enough modern minibuses on the domestic market that can bypass UAZ in some respects. However, if we consider the "price - throughput - capacity" scheme, then the "loaf" will bypass all its competitors by a fairly large margin.
