Description of the power plant

MAZ-5337 is equipped with a four-stroke six-cylinder diesel turbocharged engine with a V-shaped arrangement of the cylinders themselves. Engine model - YaMZ-236. It meets Euro 2 environmental standards.

Available also dryair filter equipped with a clogging indicator. At the same time, the filter element is quite easy and quickly changed if necessary. There is also an electric type flare device. A PZhD-30 heater is also provided for starting the engine in the cold season. Power to the electric starter is transmitted from a pair of 6ST-190A batteries. The total engine capacity is 11.15 liters. Motor power is 180 horsepower, and the maximum torque is 667 Nm.

Cab

MAZ-5337, the scheme of which, like in any other truck, necessarily provides for the presence of a driver's seat, has not very comfortable conditions for the driver. The cabin of the car is not very warm and has poor sound insulation. Glazing also does not stand up to criticism. It is very problematic to make long-distance flights, as long-term practice has shown, on such a truck. At the same time, the ventilation system and the heating system function quite well. The cabin itself can be either two- or three-seater. There is also a hydraulic cylinder with a manual type pump to tip it over before starting repairs.

The driver's seat can be adjusted in height, angle and distance from the steering wheel. The sleeping place is present only in the MAZ-533701 HL model, which was originally intended for operation in the Far North. Driving the machine does not cause great difficulties, thanks to the presence of a hydraulic power steering. MAZ-5337 (a crane is one of the modifications of this truck) is endowed with a transmission combined with an engine, which includes a pneumatic booster, a dry-type clutch and a five-speed gearbox equipped with synchronizers. The rear and front suspensions have been upgraded, and the wheels are discless. The braking system is multi-level, pneumatically activated. The brakes perform their functions effectively even at speeds over 60 km/h. A loaded vehicle will need at least 36.7 meters to come to a complete stop.
