This article will talk about different classes of trucks. All their main characteristics, types and other technical features will be presented. At the end of the article, a table will be given with the main indicators of various types of trucks, starting from the Euro truck 82 and ending with an isothermal van.
Truck classification
Today, the following types of trucks are distinguished:
- tilted;
- onboard;
- refrigerator;
- isothermal.
The concept of "truck" includes a truck tractor and a semi-trailer with a carrying capacity of twenty tons. According to generally accepted standards, the volume of a truck in m3 ranges from 86 to 120 units. The name of the vehicles: “wagon-tent”, “thermos” and others comes from the type of semi-trailer.
Fura-tent (Eurotent)
In a truck equipped with an awning, it is possible to place various equipment, such as mounting rails or other elements. It is possible to remove the awning, and load from the top, side or rear.
If necessary, racks are dismantled and long items are loaded into a truck. Because of this feature, tilt trucks are the mostin demand in the transportation market. The volume of the truck varies between 86-120 m3, as mentioned above.
Heat-insulated trucks are used to transport goods without a special regulated temperature during transportation, because this design of the car only maintains the initial temperature for a short period of time, for long-term transportation with a given temperature inside, you need to choose a refrigerator. The dimensions inside and the volume of the truck in cubes largely depend on the amount of insulation used in the construction of the vehicle.
Dimensions of the refrigerator (refrigerator truck)
The truck for the transportation of perishable products is equipped with an independent refrigeration unit, which is mounted in a semi-trailer, so it is possible to create the required temperature inside the semi-trailer. The temperature inside the truck can be set between minus twenty and plus twelve degrees Celsius, regardless of the temperature around.
Refrigerators are divided into classes, in accordance with the European classification. Depending on the temperature regime, trucks can be divided into the following classes:
- Class A - temperature inside from +12 to 0 degrees Celsius;
- Class B - inside temperature from +12 to -10 degrees Celsius;
- Class C - inside temperature from +12 to -20 degrees Celsius;
- Class D - inside temperature ≦+2 degrees Celsius;
- Class E - temperature inside ≦-10 degreesCelsius;
- Class F - inside temperature ≦-20 degrees Celsius.
The dimensions of the refrigerated truck with a carrying capacity of 20 tons are as follows:
- height – 2400-2500mm;
- length - from 13200 to 13600 mm;
- width - from 2430 to 2450 mm.
At the same time, what volume of truck to choose is determined by the consumer in the range from 82 to 86 cubic meters.
Dimensions of an open long length (scow)
Scow is used to transport, as a rule, building materials and equipment that is not afraid of precipitation. The characteristic of the scow is as follows:
- carrying capacity - 20000 kg;
- length - 11700-13600 mm;
- width - 2350-2450 mm;
- body type - open;
- Loading available - side, back and top.
Truck parameters
Under the road train is understood the articulation of at least a semi-trailer, a trailer and a tractor vehicle. The total volume of the truck will be 120 cubic meters. Road trains carry from 86 to 120 cubic meters of cargo, without the need to issue special permits. However, the carrying capacity of the road train does not go beyond fifteen tons. A 120 cubic meter machine is the best option for transporting bulky light loads.
Road trains have a load capacity of 15,000 to 20,000 kg, overall dimensions:
- height - 2600-3000mm;
- length - from 13600 to 16000 mm;
- width – about 2430-2450mm.
And the volume of the truck reaches 120 cubic meters, the body is madeclosed, loading is carried out from the side, from above and from behind.
Specifications and length of a standard truck (depending on type) are shown in the table.
Machine name | Volume of truck, cubes |
"Eurotruck 82" | 82 |
"Eurotruck 86" | 86 |
"Eurotruck 90" | 90 |

Conclusion
Regardless of the type of truck, when choosing these vehicles for transporting goods, you get a versatile vehicle with high cross-country ability and sufficient load capacity. Trucks remain an integral element in the implementation of transport services for enterprises.

Motor transport: the volume and carrying capacity of the truck
Motor transport is one of the most affordable and convenient ways to deliver goods. The load capacity of a truck depends on several characteristics, such as design, number of axles, dimensions
Motorcycles 50 cubes and their features
Choosing a vehicle, more and more people turn their attention to motorcycles. 50 cubic meters of working volume is quite enough for driving along narrow city streets and gravel country paths. This type of transport costs less than a car. And it has a number of advantages
Choose a scooter and a moped up to 50 cubes. What do you need to know?
For those who live in a big city, it will be relevant to purchase your own transport, since riding a bus can take a very long time. Scooters and mopeds up to 50cc help save not only time, but also money
KAMAZ dump truck body volume - model overview
KAMAZ Open Joint Stock Company is one of the largest truck manufacturers in the CIS. This company is engaged in the production of truck tractors, flatbed and thermal vans, as well as dump trucks. Agriculture, construction, public utilities - these are the main industries where KAMAZ dump trucks are used. The volume of the body at the same time holds from 8 to 26 tons of bulk materials (depending on the model)
"MAZ 500", truck, dump truck, timber truck
The Soviet truck "MAZ 500", the photo of which is presented on the page, was created in 1965 at the Minsk Automobile Plant. The new model differed from its predecessor "MAZ 200" in the location of the engine, which was placed in the lower part of the cab. This arrangement allowed to reduce the weight of the car
