Excavator EK-18, the technical characteristics of which we will consider below, was created by Russian designers. Power plant

The construction equipment under consideration is equipped with a liquid-cooled D-25 diesel engine. The fuel tank holds 255 liters of diesel fuel, the consumption is about 236 kW / h. The power limit is 105 or 123 (with a Perkins engine) horsepower.

Some modifications are equipped with a Hydronic system and a starting heater, which makes it easier to start the engine in severe frosts. Trouble-free and efficient operation of the machine and engine is ensured with proper care and maintenance.

Cab and dimensions

The TVEKS excavator is equipped with a safe single-seat cab, which has a large glass area to improve the view of the working area. The equipment is equipped with a heating system with the possibility of distributing air flows, whichprevents freezing and fogging of glasses, regardless of the season.

The cab provides a comfortable operator's seat, storage compartments for small items, tools and the like. The sensors are conveniently located on the control panel. Most of the decoration is made of plastic, the door is insulated. The cabin is raised to the required height using a special hydraulic unit.

Modifications

Several modifications are produced based on this technique:

1. The basic assembly of the model has a power of 77 kW, equipped with German hydraulic equipment and a domestic power unit MMZ-245.
2. An upgraded version of the TVEKS EK-18 30 excavator with foreign mechanisms and a hydraulic unit.
3. Series 40 equipped with scrapers, cab with hydraulic lift.
4. Modification under the index 18 44 with a clamshell five-blade grip of the configuration GP-554.
5. Upgraded model with Perkins motor and Bosch Rexroth attachments.
6. Versions of EO-3323 and MSU-140, the parameters of which are almost identical to series 18 60.

Work Equipment

As standard, the Tver excavator is equipped with an earth-moving bucket with a capacity of about one cubic meter. On request, its volume can beincreased, and additionally adapted front blade with hydraulics. Boom configuration - monobloc type or variable geometry.

The machine can be equipped with various attachments used for dismantling, loosening, cutting. Among such equipment:

1. Hydraulic hammer - for destroying buildings, crushing frozen soil and household stones.
2. Hydraulic shears - cut concrete structures, reinforcement, cables, have a full-rotation rotor.
3. Capture of logs with a load capacity of up to three tons. It is used for skidding wood, stacking logs and lumber or scrap metal.
4. Single tooth hydraulic ripper - performs earthmoving, dismantling and opening of asph alt concrete pavement.
5. Digging, loading grab - for pouring a variety of bulk cargo.

Prices for EK-18 series construction machinery are very scattered. Each region will have a different cost. Used cars will cost from 300 thousand rubles per unit. The difference from several hundred thousand to three million is logically explainable. Among the shortcomings is the impossibility of the machine to work on weakly bearing soils due to the peculiarities of the wheel arrangement.

Run-in and storage

Before commissioning a new excavator, it must be run in. It lasts at least 30 hours. If you immediately subject the machine to maximum loads, this will certainly lead to a premature deterioration in the technical condition of the equipment or excessive wear of parts. Units and mechanisms designed for a certain time operating time of the unit must also be run in.

Immediately after the break-in, a technical inspection of the excavator is carried out. This includes:

• Checking the cleanliness and oil level in the rotary mechanisms;
• pay attention to the condition of all fasteners and bolted connections;
• change the filter elements in the hydraulic reservoir;
• remove and clean suction filters.

For long-term storage, the excavator is prepared in a special way. Fill the hydraulic tank with working fluid,the breather is wrapped with oiled paper.
