Released on the screens in 2001, the film "Fast and the Furious" became a cult movie about illegal racing. Each next part of it collects huge sums at the box office around the world. In addition to the wonderful cast and an interesting driving plot, a considerable part of the attention of the audience is attracted by cars, each of which has its own name. There are a lot of cars from "Fast and the Furious 6" that play almost the main role in the film. Therefore, it makes sense to look first of all at those on which the main characters rode. So, let's take a closer look at the cars from Fast and Furious 6, the latest entry in the franchise to date.

Letty preferred "British"

Letty's car from "Fast and the Furious 6" deserves special attention, because it is quite rare these days "Jensen Interceptor". For the film, this 1971 British car was equipped with an American "LS3" engine. The V-shaped Chrysler "eight" developed up to 480 "horses", and to cope withcar was pretty hard. It was also repainted matte gray with black stripes for filming, lost its bumpers and received a lowered suspension.

Main character

Let's look at Dominic's cars. He, except for almost the entire first part, never cheated on muscular American cars. Dominic's car from Fast & Furious 6 is a black 2011 Dodge Challenger. On it, he, along with Brian, rushes along the serpentines at the very beginning of the picture. By and large, the car remained in the factory configuration, and for the film the body was only expanded, a differential lock and a powerful handbrake were installed. All these improvements were needed for a more spectacular scene of the first race.

In the middle of the film, Dominic changes to another iconic muscle car, the Dodge Charger Daytona. Toward the end, he, like many cars from Fast and Furious 6, was smashed to smithereens. To be frank, it was an ordinary Charger stylized as a Daytona. The original car is too rare and expensive to be ruthlessly destroyed on set. But the alteration work was done very well, and only a connoisseur will notice small inconsistencies, such as headlights. On the original "Dodge Charger Daytona" they are raised, but on the car in the film they are neatly "poured" into the nose.

In the plane crash scene, Dominic escapes in another "Dodge", this time "ChargerSRT8". It also differs from the stock model in several small things: matte paint and sports seats. Under the hood, the 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine with 470 horsepower remained unchanged. About the Plymouth Barracuda that appeared at the end of the film, unfortunately, nothing is known.

Spectacular armored car

The army armored car Hobbs "Navistar-Defense MXT-MV" looks rather ridiculous, keeping up with the "BMW M5". This car can do a lot, but with its mass it is impossible to develop such speed and at the same time pass fast turns. Realism for "Fast and the Furious" is not the main thing, the main thing is entertainment. And the car turned out to match its owner: big, rough and powerful.

Cop Brian's cars

Brian is a fan of the Nissan GTR, and his love for these cars was not spared by the filmmakers. At the very beginning, he drives a silver sports car, and at the end, a blue car appears near his house in Los Angeles. A detail that catches the eye of many viewers is that in the serpentine race, Brian actively pulls the gear lever, and only a few know that it is sequential, with paddle shifts. Simply put, this is an automatic with the possibility of manual gear selection, but the switching is carried out by paddle shifters. Why the driver needed to pull the lever all the time remains a mystery. Apparently, it was more spectacular.

How the blue "GTR" rides remains a mystery, on the screen it flickers only standing still. Butthe characteristics of this car from "Fast and the Furious 6" are impressive, because specialists from several eminent companies have worked on it. After all the modifications, the 3.8-liter engine produces 685 horsepower, which is a lot even for such a supercar. Some body panels have been replaced with carbon fiber, even the brakes here are carbon ceramic. The body kit was created by the famous Japanese studio "BenSopra".

During the tank chase, Brian's car from Fast & Furious 6 is the legendary rally Ford Escort RS2000. Despite the modest volume (only 2 liters) that makes the baby Escort stand out from the muscle cars surrounding him in this scene, he is very nimble.

The filmmakers have reached the point of technical absurdity

But the reputation of the most absurd, in the opinion of the audience, the car from "Fast and the Furious 6" received the "changeling" Owen Shaw. Character dialogue about this car mentions a turbodiesel engine from a Lehman prototype, but in one of the scenes of the film, Shaw changes the spark plug on it! An annoying inconsistency, you will agree. And the car itself evokes ambiguous emotions: on the one hand, it is high-tech (powerful engine, light weight, rear thrusters), but it looks like it was assembled by pioneers at the Station of Young Technicians from scrap metal. Plus, although Shaw and Veg ride the shifters one at a time (without passengers), there are two extra seats in each car.

Special effects over reality

To connoisseurs of American classicsI liked another muscle car - the 1969 "Anvil Mustang", driven by Roman Pearce during the tank chase. It is notable for the fact that, despite the laws of physics and common sense, it becomes an anchor for a multi-ton tank and turns it over. The car's durability is greatly exaggerated, but don't think about it when watching Fast & Furious.

In the pursuit through the streets of London, the team drives black "BMW 540i" in the back of the E60. Actually, all the cars from "Fast and the Furious 6" were stylized as "M5" for the same reason: it was too expensive to destroy as many real "emok" as were broken on the set.

Impressions after watching the sixth part of "Fast and the Furious" remain ambiguous. On the one hand, the tricks look very implausible. But the spectacularity of the picture makes you forget about inconsistencies with the laws of physics, because millions of fans watch it not because of realism. But the rest of this film is in order: tough guys, beautiful girls, a lot of drive and a lot of great cars.
