The ten machine is one of the most common in the territory of the former Soviet Union.

Despite the skepticism towards the domestic auto industry, the car fell in love with the drivers. Although the VAZ-2110 has not been produced since 2007, it can still be often seen on the roads.

History

Machine "ten" has been developed for more than twelve years. Its production was postponed many times, and at some points it could not take place at all. In the eighty-third year, VAZ engineers began to develop a qualitatively new car that had to meet all modern requirements. Initially, the project involved the modification of "Sputnik". The designers assumed minor changes to the body and some details. But during the development process, it became clear that there were too many changes. Therefore, it was decided to create a separate car series. An experimental version was ready already in 1985. After that, the post-development stage began.

In 1990, Soviet motorists saw the first photos of the car "dozens". They were secretly removed by journalists during tests at the Porsche test site. The model was already ready to go to the conveyor. Issue wasappointed for the ninety-second year. However, the collapse of the Soviet Union and the ensuing deep economic crisis prevented these plans. The car "ten" saw the light only three years later.

Start release

After a series of difficulties and failures, the car finally went into mass production. However, by this time, twelve years had already passed since the start of development. New technologies and technical standards have emerged in the automotive industry. Therefore, the new "tens" cars were no longer a breakthrough and were significantly inferior to many foreign counterparts. However, it still became a breakthrough for the domestic auto industry.

"Ten" was ideal for post-Soviet realities. The car was quite comfortable.

It had the ability to install power windows and power steering. An on-board computer was added that controlled the operation of the engine. The car looked very presentable and was strikingly different from the old Soviet cars. On the domestic market, the "ten" was a rather expensive purchase and cost more than many foreign cars. The rights to its release were bought by several corporations from Ukraine. The car was also exported abroad.

Engines

In total, the car Lada "ten" was produced in four trim levels. The most popular of them is the VAZ 21124. The engine capacity is 1.6 liters. Made from cast iron. Motor "tens" was its most significant distinguishing feature from other domestic cars. The carburetor injection system was replaced by a revolutionary distributed injection system. Instead of a mixing chamber, the combustible mixture enters special channels that lead directly to the engine. The injection of the mixture into the cylinder is carried out using nozzles. They are mounted on the head and are connected to the timing system. When the piston completes the compression stroke, the injector injects the required amount of fuel. These processes are controlled by an electronic computer. Special sensors are installed in the combustion chamber, which send a signal to the "center". This results in significant fuel savings and increased power.

"Ten" almost instantly conquered the post-Soviet market. She was perfect for domestic roads. durable suspension andstrong springs ensured a comfortable ride and "indestructibility of knots". Also, the car had good cross-country ability.

The design of the body caused a comfortable interior, which freely accommodated five people. Drivers also liked the unpretentiousness of the car. The oil was inexpensive, and the filters and seals served the specified period. There were many "folk" modifications of the "dozens". The fuel system was supplemented with new tanks, and the cooling system was supplemented with radiators from other models.

Economy

Also an important factor was the low cost of spare parts and their availability. If parts for similar foreign cars could cost several times more and they had to be ordered from abroad, then spare parts for "dozens" were sold in every city. Also, the prevalence of the car led to a good knowledge of all its systems by auto mechanics.

Any service station could repair the Lada at an affordable price. In the crisis of the nineties, not all people could afford expensive foreign cars. A "ten" has become a kind of indicator of status. Until the release of "Priora", the car was considered the most prestigious. Each manufacturer himself determined how much a ten car costs.
