Inside the catalyst there are small honeycombs on which soot accumulates over time. As a result, the gases cannot leave the combustion chamber normally, and the engine "suffocates".
What is the solution to this problem? It's simple: instead of a standard catalyst, a flame arrester or just a straight pipe is installed. Another, the most budgetary solution is the mechanical removal of the ceramic core of the catalyst. Access is provided after opening the case with a grinder, after which the hole is welded. It will not harm the engine. The maximum that will change is the smell of exhaust gases and theirtoxicity. But since we do not yet control any environmental standards, owners of used VAZs and foreign cars are completely getting rid of catalysts. The cost of a new element is more than 20 thousand rubles, and there are almost none in stock.
Mass Fuel Flow Sensor (MFFS)
This element is available in any injector VAZ. It is a plastic element, inside of which there is a thin platinum thread. When the driver turns on the ignition, voltage is applied to this thread, which raises the temperature due to the high resistance. When the motor starts, the air that enters the nozzle cools this thread. As a result, the resistance and voltage change. This information is read by the controller. So the control unit "knows" how much air has passed through the mass air flow sensor.
If the sensor is faulty, the ECU puts it into emergency mode. At the same time, “check” is lit on the panel. Indirect signs of a malfunction of the DMRV are:
- Unstable engine idling.
- Long engine start.
- Poor acceleration dynamics.
- High fuel consumption.

If a car with LPG
