At the Yaroslavl facilities of OAO Avtodizel, since December 2013, diesel units of the YaMZ-530 family have been manufactured. This includes only two engine models so far - these are four- and six-cylinder engines.

The goal of this project is to create a true universal platform, on the basis of which it will be possible to produce power units for a wide variety of equipment in the agricultural and construction sectors. After all, it is known that in order to build a special version of the motor for a tractor, many different additional tasks will be required. Often you have to recycle some details. However, the specialists of the Yaroslavl plant guarantee that in order to use this engine, it is not necessarythere will be no design changes.
A risky but successful move
The Yaroslavl Motor Plant really took a real risk. After all, it is very, very difficult to create a YaMZ-530 diesel engine that would not only have unique characteristics, but could also create competition for the best models of world manufacturers.
For this, in the middle of the 2000s, European engineers were invited as partners in this project. After several years of development and experimentation, a series of in-line engines with a volume of 1.1 liters per cylinder was created.
The same volume, by the way, on units of well-known brands such as Cummins, Volvo and Iveco. The YaMZ-530 engine also features advanced performance and fuel consumption.

Valve crackers, as well as liners - and those imported, made by the eminent manufacturer Mahle.

The YaMZ-530 diesel power unit is the embodiment of the most modern and advanced solutions. A unique battery-type fuel supply scheme works here. It is controlled by an electronic control system. All parts are made to work under high pressure.
The lubrication system, as well as efficient cooling, allow you to get a liter power of up to 34 kW. The drive based on gears on the flywheel side makes it possible to make the operation of the unit almost silent. The number of revolutions of the crankshaft for the base unit is 2300 rpm. Maximum torque - 710 Nm at 1600 rpm. As for the fuel consumption of YaMZ-530, the characteristics show that the unit's appetites are 143 grams per horsepower per hour. It's pretty technological. The engine weight is only 480 kg in the basic version.
The six-cylinder version has better performance. The volume of the unit is 6.6 liters. In terms of equipment, this version is a complete copy of the four-cylinder. Here is the same drive units, the same cooling system, a turbocharger is installed.
Power depending on the modification will be from 270 to 312 horsepower. The torque in this version is 1226 Nm at 1600 rpm. Minimum fuel consumption - 194 grams per 1 horsepower per hour.
Euro 5 certified
Yaroslavl plant "Avtodiesel", where they are engaged in the production of such units, has successfully received certificates for the YaMZ-530 engine, the characteristics of which fully comply with the new environmental standard. The new Euro-5 range features significantly improved performance, technical and economic performance. The powerband has also expanded. Now it is from 240 to 330 horsepower. Torque has also increased from 900 to 1370 Nm.
By their design, the Euro-5 models are almost completely unified with their similar "brothers" under the previous standard. In order to fully comply with the latest environmental regulations, the design uses a catalytic reduction system.
The first copies were sent for testing to the strategic partners of the GAZ group. They will be installed and operated on many vehicles, such as Ural, MAZ, and also city and suburban buses of the LiAZ brand will be equipped with these units.
