"Raum Toyota" - a compact minivan for family use

The car brand "Raum Toyota" was produced from 1997 to 2011. The model was created on a common Toyota platform, but at the same time, some changes were made to the chassis. The Raum Toyota car, a compact minivan, needed reinforced suspensions, since its design loads exceeded the technical parameters of the prototype by an order of magnitude. The front suspension of the new car, multi-link, independent with transverse stabilizers, allowed the installation of powerful coil springs. Which was done without sacrificing technical characteristics. Thus, the Toyota minivan received a front end with a sufficient margin of safety.

Revision

When strengthening the rear suspension, the developers limited themselves to half measures, increasing the width of the articulated-pendulum structure and slightly lengthening the anti-roll bar. Nevertheless, the strength of the Raum Toyota chassis has increased significantly, and the car could already be operated as a family minivan. The spacious interior of the car also had this.

The choice is big enough. But in this case, everything looks different. The Toyota Raum car, whose engine does not differ in either large volume or power, is a relatively inexpensive model of the M segment, and it simply does not need an engine with outstanding performance. Therefore, the average traction parameters are sufficient for the car. Toyota minivan successfully operated with a power plant with a capacity of about 100 hp:

Comfort level

The Raum Toyota model was upgraded in 2003, after which the car got a unique door layout. There are no dividing posts in the body structure. When the front sash is opened and the back door is pushed back, an opening of one and a half meters wide appears, thanks to which the boarding and disembarking of passengers becomes convenient and comfortable. The rear doors are equipped with automatic servomotors, open and close at the touch of a button.

New

Another know-how introduced during the restyling of 2003 is the swivel front seat - both driver and passenger. When exiting, you can turn the seat and immediately be out of the car. The invention would be useful for people with disabilities, disabled people and accident victims who temporarily lost mobility, who needed to be transported to a medical institution or from a hospital to their place of residence.

Interior

The interior of the "Toyota Raum" model is spacious, well ventilated, with efficient heating. The seats are comfortable and upholstered in durable fabric. The entire rear of the cabin is occupied by a spacious luggage compartment. If you need to carry a significant amount of cargo, the rear seats fold in such a way that you get a flat area on which you can place a load of up to four hundred kilograms.

The dashboard is made in a good design style, the entire torpedo is integrated into a plastic shell in calm beige tones. In the center there is a low console, smoothly turning into the upper part, slightly expanding in both directions. The result was an elegant module, which organically housed numerous sensors, buttons and controls. Devices for managing the life of the car are at arm's length and are clearly visible. At night, all devices are illuminated with soft diffused light.

Speedometer is slightly off-center and made in the form of a semicircle. To the left and right of it are two main sensors: a fuel gauge and a coolant temperature controller. The center console houses the controls for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting and a multimedia system. All door windows are equipped with electric drives, which are controlled by buttons mounted in the armrests.

Cost

"Toyota Raum", the price of which varies in a fairly wide range, depending onmileage and technical condition, can be purchased at used car dealerships or on the market, from the hands. In the latter case, the purchase should be taken carefully, since such a machine may have hidden defects. The cost of the Toyota Raum model on the go, without visible flaws, can range from 95 to 420 thousand rubles. Prices for new cars vary considerably and depend on the region where the showroom is located.
