For the first time, the Japanese Nissan Patrol SUV was born back in 1951. At that time, this car was created for the needs of the army and in its appearance resembled a Willys jeep. The release of the next generations was carried out with a large interval. Gradually, the Nissan Patrol car began to be produced not for army purposes, but for civilians. So, significant updates took place in 1960, 1980, 1988, 1998. Six years later, the sixth generation of the legendary SUVs entered the world market. This model has not lost its popularity even after its removal from mass production.
Design
As the driver's reviews assure, the Nissan Patrol-6 is a purely masculine car with its own features and character. And indeed, its shapes and lines are not at all what they like now - they are rough, massive and truly off-road. Outside, the car has a minimum of unnecessary parts. Large rectangular main beam headlights, a pursed bumper with integrated foglights, a branded radiator grille with a huge company logo. Muscular wheel arches and sills only add masculinity to the look of the Nissan Patrol-6.
Interior
The inside also has its own characteristics. Today we are used to comparing the Nissan Patrol with some kind of elite, fancy crossover, but with the 6th generation the situation is completely different. In the cabin, everything is very simple and as clear as possible for the driver, there is a minimum of electronic systems and “bells and whistles”. Even the onboard computer is missing. Inside, the car is simply designed to conquer long off-road tracks and dangerous obstacles. Restyling in 2004 brought many changes inside the cabin.
The architecture of the front panel has changed, the color design has become more extensive, and the finishing materials are of better quality. By the way, many drivers note the presence of a large free space between the seats. In general, the 5-meter Nissan Patrol SUV really deserves the attention of true fans of off-road tracks (and yet it is not for those who want to get a glamorous SUV with a mass of electronic systems and “gadgets” at half the cost of the jeep itself).
Specifications
The car is equipped with two engines. Of these, gasoline is a 245-horsepower engine with a displacement of 4.8 liters. Such a unit is able to accelerate the car to a maximum of 190 kilometers per hour. Turbodiesel with its volume of 3.0 liters develops a power of 160 horsepower. This unit is supplied with either a four-band “automatic” or a five-speed “mechanics”.
When it comes to fuel consumption, an all-wheel drive SUV is by no means the first place in terms of economy. Like modern SUVs, Nissan Patrol has a fuel consumption in the city of about 25 liters per 100 kilometers. On the highway, the car is more economical - fifteen liters per "hundred". As for the turbodiesel, it is rather an exception to the rule, since it is such an engine that absorbs no more than 9 liters in a suburban mode and 14 liters in a city mode. Therefore, a gasoline engine is less popular than a diesel one.
