Among motorists in Russia, the dispute over cars with diesel power plants is constantly increasing. There are many reasons for this. For example, often such vehicles are bought because of their efficiency. Just diesel fuel is much cheaper than ordinary gasoline. You can ensure the reliability of the power plant with Q8 oil, designed specifically for diesel engines. What is the best compound to use and what are its benefits?

A few words about the brand

The Q8 brand itself is owned by the Kuwaiti state oil and gas company. The enterprise has concentrated production, transportation and processing of hydrocarbons. As a result, it was possible to reduce the cost of lubricants produced and improve their quality. The concern's production facilities have received international certificates ISO 9002, ISO 9001 and QS 9000. The company has opened its own research center in Europe, where new lubricants are developed and formulations are tested. The brand has all the necessary approvals from leading car manufacturers (BMW, Renault, Volvo and a number of others).

Nature oil

The presented diesel engine oil belongs to the synthetic category. In this case, hydrocarbon hydrocracking products are used as the base basis. The properties are additionally enhanced by a complex of alloying additives. With their help, it is possible to expand the performance characteristics of the mixture at times. Improves the quality of the composition and its service life.

For which engines

Q8 oil is suitable for turbocharged or naturally aspirated diesel engines. It can be used on both old models of engines, and on the most modern ones equipped with direct fuel injection.

Viscosity

One of the main characteristics of diesel engine oil is its viscosity. The classification according to this parameter was first proposed by the Association of Automotive Engineers of America (SAE). The presented type of Q8 oils is declared index 5W40. You can pump the mixture through the system at a temperature of -35 degrees Celsius. At the same time, a safe cold start of the motor can be carried out at -25 degrees. Easy-flowing Q8 engine oil is suitable for both winter and summer operation.

To maintain the desired viscosity at different temperatures, polymeric hydrocarbons were added to the mixture. Macromolecules of compounds change theirshape depending on different temperatures. For example, when external heating is reduced, they are folded into a specific spiral, which makes it possible to maintain the desired viscosity and density. When heated, the reverse process occurs. The fact is that the macromolecules unfold, and the fluidity of the composition is noticeably reduced.

Q8 oil of this type also has a low pour point. The mixture hardens at -39 degrees Celsius. To do this, compounds were introduced into the composition that reduce the size of paraffin crystals that precipitate with a decrease in temperature.

Corrosion protection

The advantage of this diesel oil is also that the product contains an increased proportion of phosphorus, sulfur and halogen compounds. These substances form the thinnest film on the surface of engine parts, which prevents metal contact with aggressive chemical compounds. As a result, it is possible to neutralize the risks of corrosion spreading over the surface. This has a positive effect on the life of the power plant.

Remove carbon deposits

Q8 oil also contains a large number of various detergent additives. The fact is that diesel fuel is characterized by an increased amount of sulfur compounds. When burned, they form ash, which can settle on the outer surface of the parts of the power plant. From this, the vibration of the motor increases, a characteristic knock appears, and fuel consumption increases. Magnesium and barium compounds are used as detergent additives in Q8 oil of this type. Substances destroyformed soot agglomerations prevent subsequent coagulation of compounds.

Stability of properties

Motor oil is exposed to the strongest negative effects from the oxygen radicals in the air. These compounds oxidize the components of the lubricant, changing the chemical formula of the lubricant. Naturally, this has an extremely negative effect on the technical characteristics of the product. This negative process can be prevented thanks to phenols and aromatic amines introduced into the lubricant. The presented compounds trap free radicals of atmospheric oxygen, prevent the oxidative process.

Reduce friction and save fuel

The use of Q8 oil also reduces fuel consumption. On average, fuel consumption is reduced by 5-8%. This was achieved through the active use of various molybdenum compounds. Substances create a strong film on the surface of the power plant, which reduces friction significantly. It also prevents premature wear of power plant parts.

Working at elevated temperatures

Elevated temperatures, high RPMs and the use of viscosity additives increase the chances of foaming. As a result, the distribution of lubricants over the surface of the parts of the power plant becomes less stable. The result is accelerated engine wear. To prevent this negative effect in Q8 oil, the amount of silicon compounds was increased. They destroy air bubbles, increase the surface tension of the oil. It's positiveaffects the adhesion of the composition.
