Izh-21261 "Fabula" is a passenger car of the Izhevsk Automobile Plant, which has high reliability, a spacious galvanized station wagon body, classic rear-wheel drive and affordable price.

The history of the creation of Izh "Fabula"

Izh-21261 was produced at the Izhevsk Automobile Plant from 2004 to 2006. The first prototype car was presented in 1995. He had a station wagon and rear-wheel drive. This choice of layout is quite justified, since the plant for a long time produced almost identical Moskvich models and the production equipment was more in line with the production of rear-wheel drive cars.

Most of the units of the new small car were designed at Izhmash. The designers managed to create at that time a modern station wagon in design, aimed at motorists, supporters of rear-wheel drive.

The main feature of the car was considered to be its universal body, which made it possible to transport long loads weighing up to 400 kg. A large rear door with significant glazing facilitated the loading (unloading) of the luggage compartment and improved visibility. Among the main advantages of the Izh-21261 interior are comfortable front seats with several adjustment options, as well as high ergonomics, which allowed the driver to easily reach any vehicle controls. In the decoration, materials were used that correspond to the budget class of a small car, namely: inexpensive plastic and anti-wear fabric.

VAZ-2106 and UMPO-331 engines were used as power units. A five-speed manual transmission was installed in the transmission with both engines.

The main reasons for the creation of Izh-21261 "Fabula" with all-wheel drive was the quality of roads and a small number of domestic off-road vehicles. What was needed was an unpretentious and roomy enough car for country trips to the country.

Izh-21261 4x4 received a roomy cargo-passenger station wagon body, all-wheel drive chassis. The design allowed the car to be quite practical due to the high roof, the vertically sloping rear with large glazing, and the deflected windshield to create aerodynamic properties. The salon was characterized by a simple finish of colored plastic and fabric materials. It should be noted its good ergonomics. Two LCD screens on the dashboard looked especially original.
