Every car enthusiast knows that the normal performance of the automatic transmission of any car depends on the level of ATP. For some car brands, this indicator is checked taking into account certain features.

If the oil level in the automatic transmission is low, in this case, the pump captures air along with the oil. The result is an emulsion with low heat capacity and thermal conductivity. As a result, the oil compresses, pressure decreases, heat is poorly removed, and the automatic transmission quickly fails.

To carry out a complete oil change in automatic transmission, you must:

  1. Find a garage with a pit or overpass.
  2. Keys for 10 and 14. You can use heads or tubes.
  3. The right amount of oil. When choosing this fluid, the automatic transmission marking should be taken into account. Changing the oil in the gearbox is also carried out based on the brand of car and the installed gearbox.
  4. New oil filter and automatic transmission pan gasket.
  5. A funnel that fits into the automatic transmission dipstick.
  6. Hose clamp pliers.
  7. Several bottles to measure drained oil.
  8. Container for draining waste and dirty gasoline.
  9. 1-2 liters of gasoline.

To replace this fluid, you will need to perform the following steps:

  • Drive onto the flyover.
  • Get under the car.
  • Feel for the drain plug in the automatic transmission pan.
  • Unscrew the cork using the head on 14. Before that, you should put a measuring container under the cork. You can also drain the oil into an unnecessary container in order to determine the amount of drained fluid. This is necessary to avoid overfilling or underfilling of oil.
  • Remove the protection and unscrew the drain plug.
  • Disconnect the outlet hose from the cooling radiator, draining the oil from there.
  • Connect the hose to the radiator to drain fluid. This treatment takes approximately 15 minutes.
  • After that, the oil change in the automatic transmission continues. At this stage, the hose must be connected to the radiator, while tightening the drain plug. However, the container must first be disconnected.
  • Lower the car. Pour in 2.5 liters of oil.
  • Start and turn off the car about 3-4 times in order to pump oil into the system. Due to this design, the oil is poured into the drain pan.
  • Disconnect hose.
  • Put the exhaust hose to the radiator.
  • Connect a diagnostic tool to the connector, which will allow you to add oil through the dipstick.
  • Check how the oil change in the automatic transmission went (this is a Toyota or a car of another brand).

It should be noted that this process lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Someexperts believe that it is not necessary to install a new filter and pan gasket. The main thing is that these details are correct. Otherwise, an automatic transmission oil change should take place along with the installation of a new filter and pan gasket.

Quite often, owners of foreign cars prefer to entrust this work to professionals. As a rule, this is due to insufficient experience and knowledge. In addition, the procedure for changing the oil, both in automatic transmissions and in gearboxes, in some cars is a complex and time-consuming process. Only qualified auto mechanics can do this job properly.
