Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is preparing to release the updated UAZ 2018. An improved model is planned to be prepared on the basis of the Patriot. Due to technological reasons and its youth, "Patriot" has not yet firmly established itself in the corresponding category of off-road vehicles. The developers are going to fix these problems by creating a universal vehicle with more advanced quality parameters.

Designers intend to outdo their main competitors (Kia, Chevrolet and Tingo) with the help of UAZ 2018 cars. At the moment, the existing series is inferior to them in a number of characteristics. The main ones are indicators of safety and comfort. The new car is expected to go on sale in the summer of 2018.

As a rule, the introduction of the latest technologies and specifications leads to an increase in the cost of the product. It is unlikely that the new UAZ 2018 will be able to avoid this problem either. Its previous cost did not exceed 850thousand rubles (on average). 1. Model ZMZ-40905. The unit is an atmospheric gasoline engine. Its volume is 2.7 liters, power - 135 horsepower. The engine has a maximum torque of about 220 Nm, combined fuel consumption is about 11 liters per 100 km.
2. ZMZ-51432. This is a turbine diesel engine with a volume of 2.3 liters, with a capacity of 115 "horses". Rev - 272 Nm, fuel consumption per 100 km - 9.5 l.

As an analogue, in addition to a five-speed manual transmission of the Dymos type, the possibility of installing an automatic transmission with six ranges from the same manufacturer is being developed. The two-stage dispensing system is equipped with an electric drive. To reduce the noise level, on solid axles, the designers have provided an increased ratio of the worm gear within a factor of 4.625. The Eaton ELocker electric-type locking differential will be used on the rear axle.
