The sixth BMW series is a luxury sports car. This line of machines first appeared on the market in 1976. Since ancient times, these have been two-door coupes. Currently, the BMW 6 Series has been replenished with a couple of bodies: a convertible and a 4-door sports car (Grand Turismo). In total, 3 generations of the model were born, given the fact that between 1989 and 2003, the 6th series was not produced.

In September last year, the concern presented the updated BMW 6 to the public. The model will be on sale by the end of this year. Today we will talk about this sports coupe.

The appearance of a German car

As is customary with a German manufacturer, the designers worked out the appearance very carefully, not missing even the smallest details. The body is traditionally made in a sporty style. Luxury interior

The salon completely copies the interior of the 5th BMW lineup, with the exception of some details. The center console is equipped with a 12-inch touch screen trip computer that has a variety of functions.

When finishing the interior, only the highest quality materials were used to create comfort and coziness in the car. The front seats, as befits a sports car, are anatomically shaped for better support. The wide armrest is divided into two parts. With these updates, driver and passenger will feel confident in the front row of the BMW 6.

The display screen displays all the information the driver needs about the condition of the car andhis systems. There are many control buttons and various switches on the steering wheel.

The 610-litre boot holds medium-sized luggage, although it won't fit as much as you'd like due to the low tailgate glass.

Look under the hood

Cars will be both rear-wheel drive and intelligent all-wheel drive. The BMW 6 Series will be available for sale in the following powertrain options:

• The 640i will get a turbocharged 3-litre V6 inline engine. Such a motor will develop a power of 347 horsepower.
• The 4.4-liter V8 power unit is installed on the BMW 650i version. This twin-turbo beast has 476 "horses" at its disposal.
• The most powerful gasoline engine will be in the M6 model and develop 600 horsepower. The V8 engine has a volume of 4.4 liters. It will work in conjunction with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In addition to petrol units, the BMW 640d will also run on diesel fuel. The volume of 3 liters will allow you to use the potential of all 333 horsepower of the engine.

All modifications will be equipped with 8-speed automatic transmissions. Based on the foregoing, we can conclude that even competitors from Mercedes-Benz and Audi can envy the characteristics of the BMW 6 Series.

Sales start

At the end of last year, the BMW 6 Series entered the market in Germany as usual. The cost of a Bavarian in Europe will be approximately63,000 euros. In our country, the car will appear no earlier than December 2018, the price is not yet known. If you focus on the western one, then perhaps it will start from 4,000,000 rubles.

German car manufacturers continue their tradition of making truly great cars. European connoisseurs of the brand leave only positive feedback about the BMW 6. In Russia, the Bavarian "six" will appeal to most consumers, even considering the fact that the cost is not so high compared to other classmates.
