At the end of 2016, the German company Opel officially presented a new hatchback car, the Opel Astra. The demonstration of the car took place at the Frankfurt Motor Show, where the novelty was received very well.

The fifth generation Opel Astra is equipped with three- and four-cylinder high-performance GM engines with a capacity of 197 horsepower. Automaker Opel plans to further expand the range of powertrains.
Interior
The number of controls for infotainment and air conditioning systems located in the cabin of the Opel Astra hatchback has been noticeably reduced.
The car is equipped with technological accessories, the main purpose of which is to ensure the safety and comfort of both the driver and passengers. The touch screen is one such accessory that allows you to monitor the condition of the car and correctly assess the track. The interior of the Opel Astra hatchback is also equipped with a leather-trimmed steering wheel, satellite navigation and various decorative elements made in black and metallic shades.
The car is equipped with the IntelliLink infotainment system, compatible with Android, Carplay and Apple, in various trim levels. The level of comfort for passengers in the new body has increased significantly: legroom in the rear row has increased by 35 millimeters.
The trunk volume of the Opel Astra hatchback is 370 liters, with the rear row of seats folded down it increases to 1235 liters.

The top version of the Opel Astra is equipped with an eight-inch IntelliLink display. The updated Opel Astra hatchback will also be equipped with LED adaptive headlights, each segment of which will have eight LED lamps.
Depending on the equipment selected, the vehicle will be equipped with the following technical safety features:

Experts and owners highlight the Opel Astra hatchback version with a mechanical six-speed transmission and a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine. The motor runs almost silently, gear shifting is smooth, the transmission lever itself fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. The only drawback is the lack of traction in low gears. Acceleration to 100 km / h is carried out in eight seconds, upon reachingAt this speed limit, driving is easy due to good traction. There are no difficulties with aerodynamics or hatchback stability even at a maximum speed of 180 km/h.
Equipped with a two-liter diesel engine and automatic transmission, the version of the Opel Astra vibrates noticeably at idle, and the engine makes a rather loud sound. The main advantage of this power unit is the maintenance of smooth and confident traction at any speed. For such a power unit, a six-speed automatic is not the best solution, since acceleration is delayed after pressing the pedal, but this transmission has reduced fuel consumption.
The driver can control the electric power steering, shock absorbers, throttle, stabilization system and gear shifting through the on-board computer.
The new generation of the Opel Astra hatchback is equipped with adaptive lighting, the intensity of the luminous flux of which adjusts to road conditions. The FlexRide system offers three driving modes - normal, comfort and sport - and automatically adapts to the driver's specific style. When you select a certain mode, the stiffness of the shock absorbers and steering wheel, the reaction of the accelerator pedal changes.
For example, in the "Sport" mode, the steering wheel becomes tighter, the shock absorbers become stiffer, the accelerator response increases, the car's roll decreases, the car's control and its stability on the track improve. The "Comfort" mode makes the Opel Astra softer to drive: easiersteering wheel, the stiffness of the suspension is reduced, there is a significant roll in corners and rolling, but the car goes more easily and smoothly on bad roads. For daily use, the "Standard" mode is optimal.
Ease of operation
Because the hatchback was originally designed as a family car, it is equipped with two interesting technologies aimed at improving the comfort of the ride.
For bicycles, a special mount is provided - FkexFix. It is discreet and extends from the rear bumper of the car. The mount is strong, the bike will not fall during transportation. In addition to the reliability of such a mount, it is very convenient and allows you not to place the bike on the roof of the car.
The loading level of the luggage compartment can be increased by the Flex Floor system. In previous models, the trunk volume was increased only by folding the rear seats, but in the new version of the Opel Astra, you can change the height of the trunk, which allows you to increase free space up to 1235 liters.
Cost
Basic equipment Opel Astra will cost buyers 19 thousand dollars (about 1 million rubles). Upgraded versions will of course cost a little more. In addition, many motorists resort to tuning the Opel Astra hatchback, which also requires additional investment.
