Purpose of the tow bar
There are a few extra tasks that can be done with the hitch:
- One of the main tasks is securing the trailer. In addition to attaching a towing cable, a trailer attachment can also be attached to the towbar. This is done, of course, first of all, in order to increase the amount of cargo carried by the car at a time. This is very convenient, for example, when moving or for a trip to the sea.
- Besides, it is possible to use the TSU to transport a variety of equipment. More precisely, a special platform on wheels can be attached to the towbar on the UAZ Patriot, on which you can place a hydro scooter, ATV or even a small yacht. The only thing for thisnecessary - choose a suitable platform with the desired load capacity and dimensions.
- You can also transport things like a bicycle. There are special platforms that are attached to the towbar, and bicycles are installed and fixed on top of them. Depending on the needs, you can choose a platform that will allow you to transport from two to six vehicles at a time.
- Protective function. Of course, this detail is not capable of protecting against a strong collision. However, the TSU is quite capable of protecting the UAZ "Patriot" bumper from small scratches that may appear when parking near the curb. It is worth saying that some drivers install this part just in order to get this small share of the protective function and keep the rear of the body without damage from a curb, a small post, a fence, etc.
Tools for installing hitch
It is quite possible to install this part with your own hands. All it takes is a few basic tools and the ability to use them. The first thing you need is a mounting tool. Most often, such a tool is a torque wrench. You will also need tools to lift the machine (jack). However, this entails a risk, albeit a minimal one. Therefore, it is best to work when lifting the machine on a stationary lift or while in a viewing hole.
