Absolutely every modern car is equipped with illumination and signaling devices, which are located inside and outside the vehicle. If all these devices are combined into one, you can get a whole lighting system. In today's article, we would like to talk about such an important element as taillights.
Functions of these devices
Today, this illumination system performs a number of functions, among which the main ones are:
- Providing illumination of the roadway during reverse movement. This function is provided by a reversing light. It is always painted white and has a much larger light beam than brake lights.
- Informing other road users about the presence of a car on the road. All vehicles behind you at night will know that another vehicle is moving ahead.
- Informing drivers about your direction and emergency situations. The modern rear light is equipped with LEDturn signals that can show the direction of the vehicle or report an emergency (in this case, the “emergency flasher” is turned on). Thus, drivers will be aware that a car may be standing on the side of the road, and will slow down.
The rear light combines the following lights:
- stop light;
- dimension lights;
- turn signals;
- reverse signal.
Rear lights are a total lighting device that is installed on each car in pairs and symmetrically. Often, on passenger cars, this is a single unit that includes all of the above signals and lights. Less common are 2 blocks (can be seen in the second photo), which are installed in pairs on each side. On such a car, there are not 2, but 4 lighting devices at the back.
Modern taillights
If earlier these devices were very tiny and even clumsy, then today's brake lights fascinate with their design and can perform several functions at once (lights, dimensions, turn signals, etc.). Now almost every automobile concern is trying to create the most unique and inimitable design of lights. Thanks to the development of modern technology, all rear lights fit perfectly into the overall appearance of the machine and at the same time remain bright and efficient. An LED is used as the main lighting element here. By the way, such options for headlights appeared quite recently. LEDsdistinguished by their durability and excellent light performance.
If the rear lights of the old designs blinded the human eye, then today's lamps have soft lighting, at the same time they can be seen for several kilometers. Thanks to the availability of LEDs today, many car enthusiasts mount them in their old taillights with their own hands. The result is very impressive, besides the shape of the lamps allows you to give the car maximum individuality and declare the unique style of its owner.
