The German-made Volkswagen Caddy Maxi, a small commercial vehicle, first saw the light of day in 1980. Since then, this small van has changed significantly, and already in 2011 the company presented to the public a new, fourth generation of the legendary car. So, let's take a look at how different this new product is from its predecessors.
Design
Looking at the appearance of the novelty, we can say with confidence that the fourth generation Volkswagen Caddy Maxi is designed purely in corporate style. Easily recognizable main beam headlights (which resemble the no less famous Volkswagen Golf in their shape) and the embossed hood have purely passenger features. And thanks to LED daytime running lights and fifteen-inch alloy wheels, the novelty becomes more stylish and modern. Otherwise, the design of the Volkswagen Caddy Maxi remained the same.universal and recognizable.
Interior
It is worth noting that a lot of different drawers and niches appeared in the inside of the car. They are located almost around the entire perimeter of the cabin - there is a shelf near the front row of seats, boxes and cup holders, drawers under the seats, and even on the dashboard there is a small shelf for things and documentation. But the overall picture is spoiled by the poor quality of the finishing material - cheap hard plastic is visible everywhere. However, in top trim levels, more expensive material is used as a finishing material, so there is still a choice.
Running characteristics
Despite the use of multiple high-tech control systems, the Volkswagen Caddy Maxi remains primarily a commercial cargo van. Therefore, neither the running suspension borrowed from the Volkswagen Turan nor the steering with variable feedback can provide really easy driving. Also, while driving, many car owners are faced with the problem of increased cabin sound insulation.
Volkswagen Caddy Maxi - engine specifications
In terms of technical specifications, the novelty will have a completely new line of engines. Now the old 1.4-liter engine has been replaced by a more economical 1.2-liter unit (and in two versions) with a capacity of 86 and 105 horsepower. Diesel also does not graze the rear - two 1.6-liter turbodiesel units with a capacity of 75 to 102 horses will be available to the buyerforces, as well as two two-liter engines that can develop a power of 110 and 140 "horses". As for the choice of transmissions, one six-speed manual box will be offered for gasoline engines, and the installation of robotic boxes of the DSG type is provided for diesel engines. These transmissions are very easy to operate, which is repeatedly confirmed by multiple test drives and driver reviews.
"Volkswagen Caddy Maxi" - about the cost
At the moment, the new German van of the fourth generation will cost from 600 to 700 thousand rubles.

Initially, this car was created as a cargo van, its interior was not adapted for passenger transportation
