Despite the abundance of tractor equipment, few models have gained widespread popularity. For example, the VT-150 has been a popular modification for more than 12 years, focused on performing work that meets all modern standards, including the operation of the latest attachments. Along with high practicality, the equipment is distinguished by a decent level of comfort, low price, high maintainability, and easy operation.

Application

The maximum efficiency of the BT-150 shows on large fields, the area of which is at least 50 hectares. It is quite possible to use it in smaller areas. But at the same time, not so high rationality is manifested, which makes it possible for the tractor to prove itself at 100 percent.

The main application of the considered model is large farm plots and significant crop areas. Especially efficiency in terms of time and consumption is felt on rods of more than 2,000 kgf. The machine is capable of aggregating with great performance at high speeds (up to 5.5 tons).

Powertrain

The BT-150 tractor is equipped with a diesel engine with a turbine, which is produced by the Altai Motor Plant in Barnaul. The development provides for two types of power unit: D-442-24 VI and D-442-25 VI. The first modification is equipped with an electric starter, the second option is a direct electric starter. The motor has an oil-liquid cooling unit. The efficiency of the heat exchange level can significantly reduce the time required to warm up the unit before starting up in winter, and in the warm season it does not allow the motor to overheat.

The parameters of this power unit are shown below:

• Power - 150 horsepower (110 kW).
• Torque margin - 20 percent.
• Maximum usable power is 1900 rpm.

Motor maintenance and transmission assembly

Repair of the BT-150 power unit does not cause any particular complaints. The hinged hood guarantees free access to all major components and systems. The designers have provided a free niche in the engine compartment of the equipment, which allows you to operate not only standard, but also other domestic or foreign diesel engines.

The tractor is equipped with a five-speed transmission with constantly meshed gears. The final parts of the gears are involute gears with point engagement. As an experiment, a block with a three-mode booster box was used. This decision made it possible to increase the number of gears up to 15 ranges. In addition, there is a reversible gearbox and a 4-range travel reducer.

Cab

The cab of the frame-type tractor in question is equipped with two jobs, good sealing, and quite spacious. Metal halide lamps (MGL VT-150) provide excellent lighting in the cab, including the dashboard. In addition, the unit is equipped with an air cooler, calorific heater, paired sealed bags on the windshield and rear window. There are rear and front wipers, an adjustable driver's seat with springs, and air conditioning (as an option).

The cabin is quite comfortable, despite the austere interior. All sensors and instruments are located directly in front of the operator, the sprung seat allows you to absorb vibrations that occur when moving on an uneven surface. All removable and moving parts are equipped with rubber pads to prevent knocks and squeaks, dust ingress into the cabin.

Undercarriage

Steering classic type, after pressing the lever, the clutch and brake are activated. There is no need to press the pedals. Lightness is achieved through the use of pneumatic amplifiers. The method of control turns is a planetary gear with pneumatics.

The equipment is equipped with a disc-type parking brake, theydifferent from the standard belt counterparts that are used on other tracked tractors. The running system of the unit has an individual suspension of the combined type. It can function as an elastic balancer or as a personal spring. This solution ensures a smooth ride, minimal impact of the tracks on the ground, and also increases the mounted capabilities of the equipment.

Hydraulic linkage

This assembly is equipped with a lever-hinge design with the possibility of pair or triple adjustment. The load capacity on the articulated axles is 3000 kgf. The maximum pressure in the hydraulic system is 20 MPa, the performance of the pump pump is 90 liters per minute.

Aggregated attachments allow you to use the tractor for cultivation, plowing, fertilizing, sowing, melioration, harvesting. The rear power take-off shaft has two speeds, partially independent and can act simultaneously on both control levers without turning off the drive. 1st and 3rd shank revolutions - 540 and 2800 rpm.

On the other hand, the tractor was discontinued due to the closure of the Volgograd plant. In this regard, it is very difficult to find suitable spare parts, and the price for them is considerable.
