The Italian company Givi has been producing various accessories for motorcycles since the late 70s of the last century. Givi saddlebags - special devices (the so-called "bags for bikes"), have long earned well-deserved popularity among numerous fans of fast riding.

Varieties of motorcycle cases

According to the place of attachment to the motorcycle, all panniers are divided into four groups:

• side containers for things that are attached to both sides of the rear wheel;
• rear center, designed to be installed behind the seat;
• special products designed to mount on a motorcycle gas tank;
• front center, which is installed in front between the headlight and fender (usually small capacity, to store the most necessary tools).

Materials used for manufacturing

Givi motorcycle cases are made using the following high quality modern materials:

• aluminum;
• high impact polymer plastic;
• textiles with special waterproof impregnation (or complete with a protective bag against strong atmospheric precipitation).

Aluminum products have the greatest strength and durability. In addition, they can withstand approximately twice the weight of the payload compared to their plastic counterparts (with the same capacity). However, these products are the most expensive. Textile saddlebags, on the contrary, are the cheapest in the line of these accessories.

They are much less rigid than their aluminum or plastic competitors, but they can be easily transformed into regular bags (a shoulder strap is usually included). The most popular (in terms of price / quality / ease of use) are plastic trunks. Therefore, it is this variety that is most widely represented by Givi.

Rear panniers

Tailcases are the most popular type of accessories in this category. Even for short trips, a motorcyclist needs somewhere to put away his helmet (and sometimes two). In addition, these accessories do not increase the overall dimensions of the bike, which is important when driving around the city. The Givi rear case is the perfect solution for this task. The model range of these devices is so wide that you can choose a case for a motorcycle of almost any size and class.

Of course, the leading place in this segment is occupied by aluminum panniers, but their price is quite high. So, for example, the model Givi DLM46ATrekker Dolomiti with a volume of 46 liters (2 helmets) costs today from 19,000 to 21,000 rubles. But a Givi B47NML Blade plastic product with the same capacity will cost you 9,400 - 10,500 rubles already. Both models can be locked, which is their undoubted advantage.

Textile rear cases are not equipped with such a useful option, but their price is more affordable. So, Givi EA107B (volume 35 liters) costs only 4,300 - 4,800 rubles, including an additional protective cover from heavy rain.

Side Bags

Givi rear saddlebags will be useful for motorcyclists on long country trips. Depending on the required number of things to be transported and the size of the bike, you can choose containers with a volume of 2⨯18 to 2⨯58 liters. The choice of material depends on the length of time you plan to use them. So, for a trip on vacation (that is, once a year), Givi EA101 textile wardrobe trunks (volume 2⨯20 - 30 liters, with a set of straps for fastening and wearing over the shoulder) are quite suitable. The price for a pair is 6,150 - 6,850 rubles.

But for regular trips out of town, plastic E21N902 (with a capacity of 2⨯21 liters) with a quick-release fastening system is better suited. Such a set (of 2 pieces) will cost from 9,200 to 10,200 rubles.

Motorcycle pannier attachment

The mounting of the side cases depends on the class and brand of the motorcycle and is a prefabricated or monolithic frame structure that is installed at the rear. To install the rear central containers in which things are stored, Givi panniers with a Monolock or Monokey mounting system are designed. They are installed on the rear trunk of a motorcycle or on a special mounting frame. Package Included:
