The operation of every internal combustion engine is impossible without intake and exhaust valves. When these mechanisms close, the fuel mixture is compressed, which in turn drives the piston. Now many cars are equipped with 16-valve engines. Each of the 16 valves has a small gap left between the mechanism stem and the camshaft lobe.
This distance is necessary so that when heated, the expanded parts do not come into contact with each other, and thus do not impair the performance of the motor. The need to tune them arises every year, after about 40-45 thousand kilometers.
How to adjust the valves?
First, you should wait until the motor cools down. Experts recommend adjusting the valves only when the engine temperature is no higher than 38 degrees Celsius. To do this, it is enough to put the car in a garage with an air temperature of 20degrees, and after 2 hours you can safely get to work.
So, let's go directly to the question of how the valve is adjusted. After our engine has cooled down, remove the distributor cover and unscrew the air filter mounting bolts. Next, remove the valve cover and take out the rubber washers. After that, we take the removed part to the side (it is advisable to wrap it with plastic wrap so that road dust does not stick to the walls) and put the car on the handbrake. Now you need to turn on the 4th or 5th gear and put the jack under the front right wheel. If this is a car with an automatic transmission, we move the gearshift lever to the “P” position. After this, we jack up our wheel and turn it until the trembler slider approaches the position of the first cylinder in the BMT. After our shaft is in the top dead center position, we proceed to adjust the gap.
The valve is adjusted in the following sequence:
- First, the clearance of the mechanisms of the 1st cylinder is adjusted.
- After scrolling the distributor slider 90 degrees, the valve of the 3rd cylinder is adjusted.
- Then we do the same with the 4th cylinder (while turning the distributor slider 90 degrees).
- Last set up the 2nd cylinder.
It should be noted that the valve adjustment itself (including the 2106th VAZ) is carried out as follows:
- Using an 11 mm open-end wrench, loosen the locknut.
- Negative screwdriverand adjust the gap with a feeler gauge (ideally, it should be 0.2 mm).
- After we pick up a 0, 2-mm probe and check the quality of work. If done correctly, the feeler gauge will penetrate the gap with little effort. Pay special attention to this. If the part will fly through the gap or, conversely, get stuck between the cam and the stem - know that the valve adjustment was not done correctly.

Specifications GAZ 2752 "Sobol": device, internal combustion engine, fuel consumption and vehicle features
GAZ-2752 in the domestic car market is well known under the name "Sobol". The car is considered reliable and practical. And the fact that the car was created by domestic manufacturers is even more pleasing. Along with unpretentiousness during operation, the machine is distinguished by affordable maintenance at a cost. High-quality parts provide a long operating time, thereby increasing the time between repairs, which is an essential argument when choosing a reliable car
Purpose and device of the internal combustion engine
For more than a hundred years, internal combustion engines have been used as power plants for most machines and mechanisms. At the beginning of the 20th century, they replaced the external combustion steam engine. The internal combustion engine is now the most economical and efficient among other motors. Let's look at the device of the internal combustion engine
What is an internal combustion engine in a car?
The internal combustion engine in cars is the most important component. If the internal combustion engine had not been invented, then the automotive industry would most likely have stopped at the wheel and not developed further to modern proportions. The engine has made a real revolution. Let's talk about what an internal combustion engine is, about its history, device and principle of operation

In a two-stroke engine, all work cycles (direct fuel injection, expulsion of exhaust gases and scavenging) occur in two cycles per revolution of the crankshaft. Further - a lot of useful information
