For almost 40 years, the German Volkswagen Passat class D car has been confidently holding onto the world market and is not going to cease to exist. During this period, the company has successfully sold more than 15 million of these copies. One of the best-selling models was the Passat B6, which debuted in 2005. It was produced for 5 whole years, and in 2010 it was replaced by the seventh generation of the Volkswagen Passat. However, B6 is still the best-selling car, but already in the secondary market. Why do our motorists love it so much? The technical characteristics of the Volkswagen Passat are described in our article.
Appearance
We note right away that the German Passat in the 6th generation was produced in several body variations. In addition to the sedan, a station wagon model was developed. Both auto designers have awardednoble appearance. From the front, the cars show us stylish curly optics and a harmonious bumper with fog lights integrated into it. The side line was also interesting, smoothly approaching from the wheel arches to the trunk of the car. Rounding out the look are new rear-view mirrors with LED turn signals and an impressive grille with the company logo.
Volkswagen Passat specifications
The range of power plants is as rich as in the previous, fifth, generation of Volkswagen. In total, Russian motorists could choose one of the 10 units offered by the manufacturer. The range included both petrol and diesel engines.
And let's start with gasoline units. The basic equipment included a new four-cylinder engine with a volume of 1.399 liters and a capacity of 122 horsepower. It is worth noting that the technical characteristics of the Volkswagen Passat equipped with this engine were not so weak. Such a car accelerated up to 200 kilometers per hour.
The second unit was less powerful. It had 122 horsepower at its disposal, and its working volume was 1.598 liters. The maximum speed is 190 kilometers per hour.
The Germans also supplied their Volkswagen Passat with a 115-horsepower 1.599-liter gasoline engine. But it appeared extremely rarely on the Russian market, as it was produced in limited quantities.
There were three engines with a displacement of 2.0 liters. Thempower was 140, 150 and 200 horsepower, respectively. The top among gasoline units was considered a 3.2-liter engine, which produced up to 250 horsepower of maximum power. Yes, the technical characteristics of the Volkswagen Passat were on top. Three years after the debut on the world market, versions with a new 1.799-liter gasoline engine with 160 horsepower began to appear.
There were also three diesel plants. Among them were engines with a capacity of 105, 140 and 170 horsepower and a displacement of 1.9, 2.0 and 2.0 liters, respectively. The Volkswagen Passat gearbox was also available in different versions. This is a six-speed "automatic" and "mechanics". Also available to customers was a 6- and 7-speed CVT.
Cost
Volkswagen Passat can be purchased at a price of 400 thousand to 1 million 300 thousand rubles.
