Not so long ago, the Japanese company Lexus introduced an updated version of the Lexus GS 350 business sedan. With such a brutal and impeccable appearance, the restyled version does not stand out with an abundance of electronic bells and whistles, like other representatives of this class. A distinctive feature was the use of a car with a hybrid installation in the GS model range, but today we will not talk about it. Let's take a closer look at the charged GS 350 sedan.

First Generation

The GS 300 business class from Lexus began production in 1991 and became the founder of the 350 model we are considering. The rear-wheel drive car was aimed at sale in the United States of America and was positioned as a sports sedan. In fact, it was an exact copy of the Japanese Toyota Aristo, which began production in 1989.

The Lexus used a six-cylinder engine with a volume of 3 liters and a power of 225Horse power. He worked in conjunction with an automatic transmission. The interior of the model was exceptionally rich - leather seats, full power accessories, an expensive audio system, airbags.

1997 lineup

In 1997, the GS model appeared to the public in the form of a restyled version. The car began to be equipped with a 4-liter V8 engine with a capacity of 300 horsepower. At the same time, the previous 3-liter engine did not disappear anywhere either. In fact, it was still the same "Toyota Aristo".

Lexus underwent a slight change in 2000 - the developers increased the volume of the power unit to 4.3 liters, while the power remained the same, but the torque increased.

Significant changes

In 2005, the Japanese company decided to start selling Lexus cars in its own country, as a result of which the brand became an independent brand. The GS model at that time boasted a new 3.0-liter V6 engine with 249 horsepower. The 430 sedan retains the same 4.3-litre V8 engine.

Rear-wheel drive cars worked with a new six-speed automatic transmission. At the same time, the company also produced a model with a V6 engine, but with all-wheel drive. An innovation for these machines is the use of electronically controlled shock absorbers.

The next year became significant for the company - the world was shown the Lexus GS 450H with a hybrid installation under the hood. To cope with its work, the 3.5-liter gasoline engine began to helpelectric motor together with a variator as a transmission. The total output reached 345 horsepower.

In 2007, the GS 350 appeared, which replaced the 300 version and had a powerful six-cylinder 3.5 liter engine. The model was both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (Lexus GS 350 AWD). This modification has been actively supplied to Russia since 2009.

The manufacturer has now stopped supplying the entire GS range to our country.

Japanese appearance

The body of the Lexus GS 350 (2017) has remained unchanged when compared with the previous restyling. The update affected mainly the front of the car. In the old modification, the radiator grille consisted of two parts, but now one is one part with several horizontal slats. The Lexus GS 350 received a number of minor interior changes. The developers have added several new colors to the interior: chateau, sporty red Rioja and brown. The manufacturer offers, in addition to its own choice of design of the space around the driver, ready-made interior packages: matte walnut, Naguri aluminum style and special F-Sport. According to reviews of the Lexus GS 350, the interior looks expensive.

The standard package of the model now includes a navigator, which is displayed on a 4.2-inch monitor. In the center of the front panel is a 12.3-inch touch screen with many functions. The car owner has options such as Bluetooth, DVD and MP3 playback, 5.1-channel sound processing system with amplifier. As an option, you can install the Mark Levinson audio system together with 7.1-channel equipment.

Interior assembled perfectly. The steering wheel is very similar to the one fitted to the Ferrari. The front and rear rows of seats remained unchanged compared to the previous version of the car.
