A couple of years ago, a well-known German automaker showed the public a new, third generation of Volkswagen Beetle small cars, better known to the people as the Beetle car. The first debut took place in the spring of 2011 at one of the auto shows in Shanghai. After that, the novelty quickly gained popularity in the American and European markets, after which the car reached our domestic market. The Volkswagen Beetle impressed everyone with its new appearance, maneuverability and comfort. So, let's look at how German developers tried to surprise their consumers in the new generation of the legendary Beatle.

Design

A car with a long history has always had a beautiful appearance, but this time the new car "Beetle" has become even more sporty and even a little aggressive. The former female car has now acquired new masculine features thanks to unusual body lines, an interesting radiator grille, as well as new headlights.

By the way, the inside of the headlights has also changed - now instead of halogen there is an LED strip, which makes the car more sporty. The rich look of the headlights harmonizes well with the front bumper and hood, and in conclusion about the exterior, we can say that the designers have done their best.

Interior

Inside, the Beetle fascinates with its trim details, which are made in an unusual form for a three-door hatchback. Compared to other Volkswagen models, this car is noticeably different in terms of interior, which gives the new product a greater individuality. But, unfortunately, in the third generation there is one significant drawback - this is a poor-quality torpedo.

The developers made it excessively hard and unpleasant to the touch, which negatively affects the noise of the car when driving. The use of cheap plastic in the interior of the novelty shocked many, because only expensive materials are relevant for such a hatchback.

Only a wide range of powerful and reliable engines can forgive a significant flaw in the cabin. The novelty will be supplied to the Russian market in five engine variations (3 petrol and two diesel). As for gasoline units, they can develop 105, 160 and 200 horsepower with a displacement of 1.2, 1.4 and 2.0 liters, respectively.

Separately, it is worth noting the line of engines running on diesel fuel. The first turbodiesel engine is capable of developing 105 horsepower at work.volume of 1.6 liters. The second engine has a capacity of 140 "horses" and a displacement of 2.0 liters.

In addition to a wide variety of engines, the novelty has a huge range of transmissions. The buyer can choose from three suitable transmissions: a five- or six-speed manual, as well as a robotic six-speed DSG type transmission.
