The first copy of the Yamaha MT 01 motorcycle was released in 2005 and was intended for asph alt roads. This creation was the result of the designers' desire to combine a powerful air-cooled engine and a lightweight aluminum frame into one whole. On top of that, the developers installed a steering column and a whole range of suspensions here. Based on all this, many may get the impression that the model is exclusively a sports bike.

First of all, I would like to break this stereotype. The fact is that the size of the wheelbase in the Yamaha MT 01 is 1525 mm. In this case, the angle of inclination of the steering column is 250 mm. These parameters are not at all inherent in sports models. The motorcycle is driven by a 1.6-liter engine, over which there is an impressive ribbed twin designed for air cooling. Without a doubt, outwardly this bike looks like a roadster. At the same time, one cannot fail to note the successful design of its legs and seats, which provide a high level of comfort for both the driver and passenger. Riding a Yamaha MT 01 will bring a lot of positive emotionsnot only for the experienced motorcyclist, but also for the beginner. The model uses a fuel tank with a volume of 15 liters.

Now let's talk about the dashboard, in which attention is drawn primarily to the tachometer, the maximum mark of which is seven thousand revolutions. Yamaha MT01 riding speed, as well as mileage and time are displayed on the LCD display. Along with this, for some reason, there is no remaining fuel level controller, instead of which an already outdated light bulb is used. Despite the fact that the appearance of the motorcycle is almost perfect, any biker will want to bring something of their own to the design. Against the backdrop of such an exquisite design, the LED stops and lights showing the direction of the turn look somehow very standard and simple.

The movement of the motorcycle is smooth, as well as complete obedience to the driver. The vehicle enters the turns smoothly, and at the same time rides along the laid trajectory. During the test drive, the suspension also behaves well. 150 Nm of torque is not so scary when it comes to understanding their distribution. In turn, the long base of the Yamaha MT 01 eliminates the possibility of skidding the motorcycle. And all this against the backdrop of an impressive appearance, which most of all resembles a courtyard style. It is impossible not to note the fact that when riding, the weight of the bike is not felt at all, which is 265 kilograms in running order. The engineers managed to achieve this thanks to the location of all the "quintals" as close to the bottom as possible.

There are also some unpleasant moments here. First of all, it concerns vibrations, which at first are very alarming. At the same time, mirrors also shake. Among other things, the sleeves of the exhaust pipes brought out to the right side of the motorcycle are not covered with anything. Well, the last thing that can slightly spoil the overall impression is the mufflers that are located under the very “tail” of the motorcycle. However, in spite of everything, this bike is very popular all over the world, and the number of people who want to buy a Yamaha MT 01 does not decrease from year to year.
