The name of the Korean company SsangYong translated into Russian means "Two Dragons". In an old Korean legend, these dragons were friendly, despite the presence of one magic stone for two. Apparently, this symbolizes the ability to combine opposites to achieve a strong result.

What contradictory SsangYong combines in the designs of their cars? Reliability and simplicity of an army SUV with the comfort of a premium car in the interior design; increased cross-country ability and stiffness of the suspension with the softness and comfort of the same suspension in overcoming obstacles; high-torque motor in the movement of an almost two-ton body with passengers on the road with the dynamism of this motor when overtaking and driving on autobahns.

If you look at the Ssan Yong lineup of SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles), then in the middle between the contender for the title of a large jeep Rexton and the defiantly original, but youth-compact Actyon, there is a middle river and stronghold of he althy conservatism - Kyron. People like to choose, but once they've had their fair share of choices, they often end up with middle, balanced solutions. Confirmation of thisserves as the title of "Leader of sales among SUVs in 2010" in Ukraine and the annual growth in sales of such vehicles in Russia.

The SsangYong Kyron was built on the same platform as the SsangYong Actyon. Kyron is designed for owners who do not want to loudly declare themselves, but do not deny themselves the pleasure of looking solid. With regard to the SsangYong Kyron, the performance is similar to the SsangYong Actyon, but the Kyron was originally equipped with a low gear, which was later implemented on the Actyon Sports pickup. Its body is more spacious and ergonomic, the influence of Mercedes design is noticeable even in such trifles as a “foot” hand brake and a line of a torpedo insert under an expensive tree. The Kyron's dynamic all-wheel drive is not a full-fledged off-road "transfer case", but better than the clutches of most youth crossovers, which burn out in 15 minutes of slipping in a medium-sized puddle.

In Russia and the countries of the former CIS, there are many owners of SsangYong Kyron cars. This is facilitated by the quality of our roads, the level of income of our citizens and the long-standing habit of finding he althy compromises. Among the advantages of the SsangYong Kyron are reviews of the high-torque and elasticity of the engine, which cannot be called a racing one, but the engine pulls an almost two-ton colossus confidently off-road and on the highway. They praise excellent brakes, as well as a roomy comfortable interior and a large trunk. With regard to the SsangYong Kyron interior, reviews highlight good sound insulation along with well-functioning climate control,which allows you to confidently go on long trips and family trips. And this is with moderate fuel consumption, especially for cars with diesel engines.

Many people praise the cross-country ability in difficult road conditions for hunting and fishing, although one cannot count on the fact that Kyron is a full-fledged SUV.

With regard to the shortcomings of the SsangYong Kyron, reviews highlight weak acceleration when overtaking (especially for models with automatic transmissions). This also includes increased side rolls at high speeds. Some reviews about the SsangYong Kyron contain complaints about hard and not enough comfortable seats along with a harsh suspension. Owners are also disappointed by the lack of factory underbody protection and the quickly rusting platform with the engine number.
