Scooters have long been an integral part of the traffic of any country. They are compact, affordable and require virtually no operating costs. This technique is ideal as a vehicle for moving around the city.

On the other hand, riding mopeds is pretty boring.

Scooters almost never go over 75 km/h. In addition, such transport looks cheap, many do not like the design of scooters. So what if you want a 50cc bike with flashy looks and great top speed?

For such cases, many manufacturers produce models that can be combined into a separate segment - mini-sportbikes.

What are they? To better understand this issue, we highlight a couple of typical representatives of this class. To be honest, let's look at representatives of different countries: the Italian bike Aprilia RS 50 and the Japanese motorcycle Honda NS 1.

Let's start with the Japanese "baby". Honda Motor Company boasts a wide variety of auto and motorcycle equipment. In particular, sports bikes from Honda have always enjoyed incredible success. And the Honda NS1 model -just a representative of the sportbike family. True, the youngest.

The motorcycle has a sporty body design. Also, sportiness is given by a special color design (see first photo). But this is only appearance. Inside is a miniature 50cc two-stroke. Its power is only 7 "horses". However, the machine only weighs 92 kg, giving it the ability to reach speeds of 115 km/h even with such a small engine.

The gas tank is designed for 8 liters of fuel. The base of the motorcycle is 1295 mm, the seat height is 750 mm. Torque is transmitted via a chain drive and a 6-speed gearbox.

It is worth noting that there is also a version of the Honda NS 1 with the NSB80 index. The model is equipped with an 80 cc engine with a power of 14 hp. Unfortunately, this modification is only available in Spain.

Now let's move on to the elegant Italian model Aprilia RS 50. The design of the motorcycle, of course, emphasizes impeccable Italian taste. Outwardly Aprilia is no different from an expensive sports bike. Honda NS 1 is still a long way off.

As for the engine, there are practically no differences from the Japanese counterpart. All the same 50 cc engine and 7 hp. power. The motor is two-stroke, cooled by liquid. The standard 6-speed gearbox and chain drive make the most of the engine's capabilities.

The weight of the "Italian" is 89 kg. The use of a diagonal aluminum alloy frame made it possible to reduce the weight of the device.

Suchthe technical filling allows the RS50 to accelerate to 112 km / h. It is worth noting that in many countries motorcycles of this series are equipped with speed limiters, so they turn into mopeds with a maximum speed of 50 km/h.

In addition to safety, Aprilia also cares about the environment. Thanks to an advanced exhaust system, the engine meets Euro 1 requirements.

So let's sum it up. Motorcycle Honda NS 1 is a little faster and more agile than the "Italian", but it has an outdated design. So if you need quality and stylish transport, choose the Aprilia RS 50, but if you value speed and affordability, then the Honda NS 1 will be the best option.
