Front-wheel drive station wagon
The first car of the VAZ-2111 model rolled off the assembly line of the Volga Automobile Plant in 1998. He was the representative of the new front-wheel drive tenth family of models, designed to replace obsolete classic cars in the company's production line. It should be noted that the VAZ-2111 became the first serial domestic station wagon with front-wheel drive.
Another distinguishing feature of the tenth family is the fact that the company's designers developed several modifications at once, and therefore the technical characteristics of the VAZ-2111 are very similar to the parameters of classmates in the following version:
- sedan - 2110 (produced from 1997 to 2010);
- five-door hatchback - 2112 (1998-2011);
- three-door hatchback - 2123 (2002-2009).
Universalproduced at the Volga Automobile Plant until the spring of 2011. Under the designation "Bogdan", the car was manufactured at the Cherkasy Automobile Plant (Ukraine) until 2014.

Despite the fact that the Volga Automobile Plant began developing its first generation of front-wheel drive cars back in the mid-eighties, the design of the VAZ-2111 at the beginning of production was considered quite interesting and differed significantly from the previous ninth generation of cars. The designers of the company managed to create such an appearance using the following solutions:

- wide lower air intake;
- large combined head optics;
- tilt and rib punching bonnet;
- straight front body lines;
- top rails;
- increased rear lights with a longitudinal insert;
- top spoiler with integrated brake light.
Car interior is different:

- dashboard with protective visor and additional control keys;
- two-spoke steering wheel;
- insert on the console with controls for climate control equipment and an audio system.
The decoration used soft plastic, fabric materials, soft flooring.
The front seats with headrests had several adjustment options, and the rear seats could be folded in a ratio of 2/3, which allowedtransport long loads inside.
