DMRV VAZ-2110 (mass air flow sensor) is the most important part of a car, without which no modern injection engine can do, including the engine of the domestic "tens". Many car owners at least once faced with the problem of the internal combustion engine. In many cases, the cause of this is a faulty mass air flow sensor. Today we will talk about its design, and also find out if this part can be repaired if it breaks.
What is an air sensor?
VAZ-2110 and many other models of the "tenth family" have a similar design of the DMRV. Basically, this spare part is a small device that is installed in the pipe and connects the throttle valve to the air filter (hence the name - air sensor). Its main function is to control the amount of air that enters the injection motor.
How can you tell if a part has failed?
The main sign of a failure of the mass air flow sensor is uneven engine operation. During its operation, the driver feels sharp jumps in speed, incorrect acceleration dynamics and interruptions during idling. Also, if this spare part breaks down, it is very difficult to start the car: even if it’s plus 30 outside, it’s hot in the cabin and the engine is hot, it’s unlikely that you will be able to drive such a car somewhere.
There are also other signs that indicate that the VAZ-2110 DMRV has become unusable, and they can occur even if the car has normal acceleration dynamics. This can be signaled by a cracked hose that connects the throttle module to the flowmeter. And the last thing that signals a malfunction is a glowing light on the instrument panel (“Check Engine” or CHECK ENGINE). But such a signal does not give a 100% guarantee that the failure should be sought in the mass air flow sensor. Perhaps the malfunction lies in the lambda probe or some other part. Therefore, in any case, the car must be sent for diagnostics, otherwise you will not determine the exact cause of the breakdown by the light bulb.
Can it be repaired?
Sorry, this part is beyond repair. If it breaks, it can only be replaced. In addition, the VAZ-2110 DMRV is a very vulnerable device: it can be broken even when its surface is frequently cleaned (this happens especially often when the device is cleanedcotton).
Replacement resource
It is impossible to say exactly how long it takes to replace the mass air flow sensor - it can break even after 10 thousand kilometers, or it can last 100 thousand or more. It all depends on the specific operating conditions and on the quality of the assembly of the part itself.
Sensor DMRV VAZ-2110: price
On average, the cost of a new spare part for the "tens" is about two thousand rubles. But in stores you can see parts with a much lower cost. As a rule, these are sensors without a housing. But you should not buy them in order to save money, since such a spare part may soon break down. It is also possible that such a mass air flow sensor is simply not suitable for your iron friend.

Error P0102: troubleshooting the air flow sensor
Modern cars are stuffed with all sorts of electronics. On the one hand, this is good, since having an on-board computer, you can determine most of the faults, on the other hand, frightening inscriptions with fault codes in the operation of the engine often come out. Error P0102 is a common culprit for failures of VAZ family cars. What does this code mean and how to fix it, this article will tell

How to check if the air flow sensor is working?
A lot depends on how well the air flow sensor works, incl. vehicle power and fuel consumption. How to check the performance of the device?

A symptom of a malfunction of the mass air flow sensor and its diagnosis
The mass air flow sensor (abbreviated as DMRV) is an indispensable device that determines and regulates the supply of the required amount of air to the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. Its design necessarily includes a hot-wire anemometer, the main function of which is to measure the costs of the supplied gases. The air flow sensor VAZ-2114 and 2115 is located near the air filter. But regardless of its location, it breaks down the same way, like all modern models of the Volga plant
