"GAZon Next", the technical characteristics of which were supposed to exceed the parameters of its predecessor, was developed after the departure of the legendary Bo Anderson, who headed AvtoVAZ. The new Russian truck was released under the leadership of CEO Vadim Sorokin. Moreover, Nizhny Novgorod is not going to stop there and continue to work on new models.

History of Creation

During the Soviet Union, the most popular trucks were the GAZ-53 with a load capacity of 3 tons and the ZIL-130, capable of carrying cargo weighing up to 5 tons.

After the transition to a market economy, it turned out that the need for a medium-duty truck was gone. They were replaced by the rapidly gaining popularity of the GAZelle, capable of taking on board up to one and a half tons. In addition, they could drive to places where GAZons and ZILs could notpass as they were treated as trucks.

Gradually, with the growth of the economy, the volume of commercial traffic grew, and again there was a need for larger cars. The domestic auto industry was unable to provide a full-fledged model capable of meeting the needs of the population. A free niche was occupied by trucks from South Korea and Japan.

"ZIL" with his "Bull" could not compete and gradually almost became bankrupt. It was then that the management of the Nizhny Novgorod plant decided to work on the revival of the once legendary truck.

Valdai was the first option. The new chassis from the GAZ-3307 with a Gazelle cab did not receive general approval. After further research on consumer demand for this type of equipment, GAZon Next was designed. The technical characteristics of the resulting car are in many ways superior to its predecessors, which will allow us to hope for its popularity in use on the territory of the Commonwe alth countries and beyond.

Specifications

Two diesel engines to choose from allow you to confidently pick up acceleration and pull a fully loaded car up any mountain. This is how GAZon Next was created. Reviews of owners who have already tried it on their own experience prove this. One of the power units is the domestic YaMZ 53442 with a capacity of 137 horsepower and a volume of 4.43 liters. The second is an imported product of the world famous Cummins brand with the ISF 3.8 e4R index. Its volume is 3.76 liters, and its power is 152 horsepower.

Modifications of the Lawn series

The new "GAZon Next" has become the fifth generation of domestic trucks produced at the Gorky Automobile Plant. The model received an individual name that distinguishes it frompredecessors - "Lawn". In relation to families, it belongs to the "Next" series.

The car is assembled on two chassis:

• "Lawn Next" C41R11 standard;
• “Lawn Next” C41R31 elongated.

In addition, in accordance with the current need to use a medium-duty truck in different variations, the following modifications were developed.

• Onboard "GAZon Next" on a short chassis with a three- or seven-seater cabin.
• "CITY GAZon Next", the technical characteristics of which were the same as in the basic configuration. The main difference is the installation of low-profile rubber on the model, which reduces ground clearance and loading height. The extended base offers two options for powertrains and, as in all cases, two different cabs: two- or three-door.
• "Lawn Next Farmer". The main difference is the mandatory presence of three doors, as well as a full-fledged tarpaulin or metal van in the back of the car.

Cost compared to competitors

Against the background of competitors among manufacturers of medium-duty trucks, in comparison of price characteristics, GAZon is a confident leader. Its closest competitors - ISUZU NPR 75, Mitsubishi Fuso Canter - cost 40 percent more. Therefore, our car has good sales prospects. It should be recalled that the cost of GAZon Next at official dealers starts from 1,400,000 rubles.

Prospects

The domestic truck "GAZon Next", the owners' reviews of which already characterize it on the positive side, has every chance of displacing imported cars from its consumer niche. Nizhny Novgorod makes an extended service interval equal to 20,000 km. Competitors offer only 15,000 km.

The factory warranty period - three years or 150,000 km - confidently exceeds that of "foreigners". For example, ISUZU NPR 75 has a warranty of only 2 years or 100,000 km. Therefore, one can only hope that the Russian medium-duty truck of Nizhny Novgorod production will be able to win the love of compatriots and not only.
