The second generation of the Seat Alhambra car (reviews and assessments of Europeans are quite different) appeared in 2010. Two years later, Russian buyers were also able to see the debut of the minivan at the Moscow International Salon.

For some inexplicable reason, there are not so many representatives of the Seat brand in the Federation. Therefore, with the release of a new model, the Spanish company hoped to radically change the situation, placing great hopes on new markets. In this regard, the updated "Seat-Alhambra" (photo can be seen below) is fully equipped for Russian roads.

About the model, which went on sale in 2013, there are two opinions. Some believe that, apart from the high cost, it is no different from other cars in this segment. Others are sure that the cost is justified, since the car carries many additional functions on board. Of course, the choice of each buyer is individual, however, in order to draw certain conclusions, it is necessary to get to know the Seat Alhambra model better.

First generation Seat Alhambra

Development andThe release of the first copy took place in 1996. The car turned out to be quite roomy, with seven seats. The dimensions of the minivan are 4617x1810x1728 mm. Although these dimensions seem impressive, however, on the road it looks quite compact.

The car was designed specifically to take a free place in the minivan lineup. The Seat Alhambra can compete with many representatives in the L-class, as it surpasses them in most functions. The package included two types of engines: diesel 2 l and gasoline 2.8 l.

The first generation was not very different from the usual five-door hatchback. The only thing is that the body shape from the back was more square. The maximum speed that the car could develop was more than 200 km / h. Acceleration - 9 seconds, power under the hood 192 - 204 hp. Assembly stopped in 2010.

Second Generation

In 2010, it was decided to release the updated Seat Alhambra. Specifications and design have succumbed to significant changes. In the shape of the body, new notes appeared that fully corresponded to modern trends: smooth lines, original headlights, a lot of chrome parts and more. The basis was the platform of the Volkswagen Sharan model. Outwardly, these two cars are very similar to each other.

Compared to the first generation, the dimensions of the body and wheelbase have increased. The new modification went on sale with dimensions of 4854x1904x1720 mm.

Salon

In the Seat-Alhambra models, the interior deserves attention. The front doors open at a steep angle, and the rear doors roll back to the trunk. The driver's seat is spacious and very comfortable. There is enough space in the cabin. The back seat can easily fit 3 people.

The instrument panel is functional and ergonomic. Directly in front of the driver are the tachometer dials and the on-board computer. A little aside, multimedia and other systems are installed. Everything is at arm's length, which greatly simplifies operation.

The second row of rear seats for two adults will seem a little cramped, but for children - just right. The indisputable advantage of the Seat-Alhambra salon is its transformation. The manufacturer has provided many options, so choosing the most suitable for a particular family will not be a problem. The luggage compartment is truly huge. If you remove the rear row of seats, then its volume reaches almost 2500 liters.

In order to completely make the stay of passengers in the car comfortable, the developers decided to toughen the suspension parts somewhat, at the same time strengthening the stability stabilizer. Therefore, the car is controlled clearly and gently.

Engines

Only upgraded power units are installed in the car. In the diesel range, you can observe TDI engines (1, 6) with a power of 140 and 1170 forces. They are equipped with a manual gearbox (6). More powerful units (150 and 200 hp) - turbocharged TSI gasoline,- operate with a 6-speed gearbox. Semi-automatic transmission units are also offered in these trim levels.

The mass of the car, of course, is significant, which does not go unnoticed, but all the flaws, in particular, with dynamics, are corrected by powerful internal combustion engines, thanks to which acceleration is carried out in 10 seconds. As a rule, the battery is installed on the Seat Alhambra by the German company Bosch or the American Exide.

Benefits

The new generation of the model has updated painted bumpers and LED lights on the stern. The roof of the car body is sloping, but this does not affect the amount of space in the cabin. Sections of the rear sofa can be moved horizontally in any direction (forward / backward). From these manipulations, free space increases either in the cabin or in the luggage compartment.

In the new model, the hood has been significantly shortened, the doors have become larger, which makes it easy to get into the car interior. Unlike the front, the rear bumper is small and neat. Just above it is the tailgate. Although it is large, it opens quite easily. Complements the picture of the back of the optics. In the new "Seat" headlights of the original, horizontally elongated shape, their size is impressive.

Package

In all configurations of the car are installed: climate control, CD-player, on-board computer, full power accessories, including mirror adjustment. In the top version, the machine is additionallyequipped with parking sensors. Safety, in addition to belts, is provided by Airbag (7 pillows), ABS, specialized head restraints. Not without power tailgate and central locking.

Much attention is paid to the environmental friendliness and efficiency of the car. For a hundred, he spends 7.2 liters in the combined cycle, and diesel modifications - a little more than 4 liters.

Some people think that a family minivan is not worth paying such a high price. But let us remind you that Italian L-class cars do not belong to the category of budget cars, moreover, manufacturers guarantee comfort, build quality and the highest operational reliability.
