"Lamborghini Gallardo" is a whole series of sports cars that, starting in 2003, were produced for ten years by the company of the same name. During this period of time, the car has been repeatedly modernized and improved. Moreover, several modifications were released, among which there is even a police version. The series is slightly smaller compared to the Lamborghini Aventador, but has become much more popular. The model made its public debut for the first time in 2003 during the Geneva Motor Show.

In the history of the brand, the car "Lamborghini Gallardo" has become the most massive. This is evidenced by the fact that in just two years about three thousand copies of cars were produced (about the same number of Diablo models were created over eleven years). Many experts consider the relatively low price for this brand to be the main reason for such success. In the development of the concept of the car, in addition to the designers of the manufacturing company itself, experts from the company "Audi" took an active part. It is the latter that owns the design of the body and engine, completely made of aluminum. The body of the car is produced at two German factories, after which it is transported to Italy to complete the assembly. In general, the design is somewhat reminiscent of the Murcielago model. This is not at all surprising, since the creation of both machines was led by Luke Donkervolk. The fundamental difference between a car like the Lamborghini Gallardo was the replacement of vertical doors with traditional ones.

An important advantage of the model is the rear view, which has become more extensive. Driving a car has become much easier thanks to the large number of electronic systems used here. They also made the car more manoeuvrable. The standard equipment of the car includes a hand-trimmed interior due to genuine leather, an electronically adjustable rear spoiler, climate control for several zones, 19-inch alloy wheels and much more.

Technical equipment

The five-liter engine of the car is installed in front of the rear axle on the base. It has a V-shape and consists of ten cylinders. The power of the installation is 500 horsepower. In combination with the motor can functionmechanical or robotic transmission. Both boxes have six gears. By increasing the camber angle from the usual 72 to 90 degrees, the engine height has decreased. Consequently, the center of gravity of the machine has decreased. The maximum speed of the Lamborghini Gallardo is 310 km / h, while the car accelerates to “hundreds” in just 4.4 seconds.

Special Edition

In 2005, a special, updated modification of the car was born. In total, only 250 copies of the model were released, in the name of which the letters "SE" appeared, which stood for "Special Edition". In the new Lamborghini Gallardo, tuning has affected almost all elements. First of all, the base motor has been improved. Thanks to some improvements, the acceleration time to the mark of 100 km / h decreased to 4.2 seconds, and the maximum speed of the car increased to 315 km / h. You can see the engine well thanks to the transparent cover. Unlike the previous version, the car boasts all-wheel drive, a rear-view camera for convenient parking, and the latest security systems.

As for appearance, absolutely all cars of the SE series are two-tone. At the same time, the roof, bumpers, rear-view mirror housings, as well as the outline of the engine cover are black. For the rest of the body elements, gray, green, orange or yellow is provided. The cost of the car was about 200 thousand US dollars.

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder

DuringMotor Show in the German city of Frankfurt, which took place in 2005, debuted another version of the Lamborghini Gallardo - Spyder. The main feature of the novelty was the possibility of folding the fabric top of the roof. The mechanism is controlled through two special buttons located on the dashboard. The engine compartment lid, which the designers decorated with narrow slots designed to remove air, has become almost flat. The rear window acts as an aerodynamic screen. It should be noted that it raises and lowers automatically and is activated by pressing a button.

The company's designers paid much attention to strengthening the car body. More specifically, the windshield pillars and sills were strengthened in the modification. The power plant with a capacity of 520 "horses" allows you to accelerate the car to 315 km / h. As for the dynamics, it takes 4.3 seconds for the car to reach the speed of 100 km/h.

Police modification

One very interesting event is connected with 2008 in the history of the brand. In October, several Polizia Lamborghini Gallardos, designed specifically for this purpose, were officially donated to the Italian police. This modification differed from others in the presence of some elements designed for the high-quality performance of the work of the servants of the law. In particular, the manufacturer installed a video surveillance system in these cars, designed to record casesoffenses. It is activated by the driver, after which, due to the GPS system, you can follow the criminal. Moreover, modern technologies make it possible to calculate the distance and speed of the suspect on the way and even transfer photos from cameras to the nearest police stations. These cars have repeatedly helped to find stolen cars and apprehend criminals.
