Since 2000, Opel has started producing Opel Agila cars. It should be noted that this model, which already includes two generations of cars, accommodates two different body types - a minivan and a hatchback.

So, the first generation is represented by a minivan, since the Agila originally had a very compact size. And after, following the wishes of buyers, the car "grew up" and turned into a hatchback.

It should be noted that Opel Agila gained popularity among motorists immediately after its release. And the point here is not at all an affordable price - at the same time several competitive models of other companies of the same class appeared on the market - but in its original appearance and convenience: unlike its rivals, the minivan had 5 doors, not 3.

But back to basics. In general, Opel Aguila is not a car manufactured by Opel. In fact, before this car went on sale, a wave of a new fashion swept through the world market - the fashion for miniature cars. Of course, the company immediately set itself the goal of filling this niche with its own model, but spending time and money on creating something radically new is notit was possible. Therefore, an agreement was concluded with Japan (Suzuki) and Opel began to turn over the Wargon R + model. This is how the first Agila "A" was born.

As mentioned above, all the first modifications of this model were minivans. Among them was the Opel Agila 2001.

The first cars differed from their competitors not only in the number of doors, but also in shape - because of the almost equal length and height, they resemble sort of "bricks".

There is also a difference between the first generation Aguila and its Japanese counterpart. It consists not only in appearance, but also in the characteristics of engines - with a volume of 1 and 1.2 liters, they have more power. There are two transmission options in the minivan - mechanical (5 speeds) and a four-speed automatic.

After several years of successful sales, the company decided to release the second generation Opel Agila, based on the Suzuki Splash. The model, marked with the letter "B", appeared on the market in 2008 and was a pleasant surprise for its fans. It differs from the previous generation in large dimensions - the length and width of the body increased by 20 and 6 centimeters, respectively, while the height, on the contrary, decreased. This change has a positive effect on the appearance of the car, making it more elegant.

In addition, the Opel Agila "B" received a longer nose, a concave rear end and original large taillights located in an unusualhigh.

The interior of both generations is discreet and elegant, the panel is discreet.

The engines of the Opel Agila remained the same - 1 and 1, 2 liters, producing 64 and 85 horses, respectively. The only update is the ability to install a diesel 1.3 engine with a capacity of 74 horsepower.

Remarkably, with fairly good performance, both generations of this car have very low consumption - just over 5 liters of fuel per hundred kilometers.

Oddly enough, Opel Agila - this original, economical, comfortable and very powerful car for its dimensions, has small sales even in its homeland. What can we say about Russia, where the official delivery of this machine is not carried out at all.
