The mounting block is installed on the left side of the car in the air intake box and serves to ensure the switching of interconnected circuits of various electrical equipment systems. In its plastic housing there are printed circuit boards, which, through current-carrying tracks, contact the plug-in terminals of the connecting blocks. Each of them has a number of jumpers and switching relays, due to which various electronic systems of any car are turned on. In addition, fuse sockets are also installed here, which, depending on the parameters and load of the circuit, are designed for a current of 8 or 16 amperes.

In the event that an overload or short circuit occurs in one of the circuits, the protective insert of the corresponding fuse blows. In other words, the mounting block allows you to prevent damage to devices or car wires. If such a malfunction occurs, the insert that has burned out must be replaced with a new one.

Maintenance of mounting block

To ensurelong and reliable service life of the electrical equipment of the car, it is very important to ensure that the connecting blocks are securely fastened. Due to the fact that the mounting blocks have a transparent cover, it is not so difficult to control this. It also indicates the numbers and purpose of the fuses and relays. If the performance of any of the systems is disturbed, it is first of all recommended to check how securely the corresponding wiring harness blocks are connected, as well as the integrity of the fuse insert. During the check of electrical equipment, in no case should the terminals and wires that are energized be shorted to ground. Otherwise, the current-carrying tracks that the mounting block contains may burn out.

Disassembly and assembly of the mounting block

In most cases, the repair of this unit comes down to replacing the circuit boards. In order to disassemble the box, you first need to remove the cover and remove the fuses, jumpers and relays from the sockets. Next, the fixing screws are unscrewed, and the upper part is removed. The PCB assembly can then be removed from the bottom of the housing. Assemble the vehicle mounting block in reverse order.

Repair

When the slightest cracks appear on the boards, they need to be replaced with new ones. It is very important to monitor the fastening of the inserts, and in case of its weakening, it is necessary to bend the holders. Inserts that have burned out must be replaced with ones that correspond to the maximum possible current. OtherwiseIf so, they may burn out. In no case should foreign elements or home-made inserts be installed in the mounting block of the car. The worst result in this case may be the ignition of the wires in the harness. When installing the box in the car, do not forget to use a special sealing gasket, which will ensure the tightness of the joints around the entire perimeter of the case.
