One of the most revered enduro motorcycles among connoisseurs of two-wheeled "iron horses" is the two-stroke model KTM-250. In 2012, this unit has undergone a number of dramatic transformations. Design features
Another innovation in the design of this motorcycle is a new frame, thanks to which the weight configuration and handling have changed. The elongated swingarm of the rear suspension assembly felt better, the front 48-mm fork remained practically unchanged. Installed wheels are made of anti-corrosion lightweight alloy.
The rest of the KTM-250 structure remained intact. This primarily concerns the power unit, which, even before restyling, was considered the standard of efficiency and reliability in its class. The only requirement for it is timely and proper maintenance, with regular topping up of special oil for two-stroke engines. The air filter housing has undergone minor changes, which received improved protection against dirt and the ability to pass more air through the filter element in a certain unit of time.

- Special attention must be paid to the serviceability of the engine mute button and the gas cable. The last element has a single structure, which is fraught with its bite in the maximum position. - One of the weaknesses of the engine is the resonator tube. It serves to ensure the nature of traction. In case of its deformation on the elements of the road, there isloss of traction at low rpm.
- The brakes on the KTM-250 motorcycles are beyond praise. They provide reliable stopping of the car. Of the unpleasant moments, air can be trapped in the system when the bike is turned over, however, this happens extremely rarely.
- Discs and basket with adequate control are practical and hardy, despite the fact that you often have to poison the clutch.
Notes
Another problematic place of the motorcycles in question is the electrics. There are practically no complaints about the operation of the main blocks and relays, but the wiring itself in terms of laying and insulation leaves much to be desired, especially given the decent vibration effects. It is worth noting another element - knitting needles. They need regular tightening. Otherwise, you will have to completely change the hub. The bearings of these elements are very durable and effective when used correctly.
